Berg+Schmidt is part of the independent, owner-operated Stern-Wywiol Gruppe based in Hamburg and has been active in the oleochemicals sector for nearly 70 years.


Originally, specialists in functional lipids for cosmetic applications, we now develop and supply a wide range of other functional ingredients.


Our current portfolio comprises an attractive spectrum of fatty alcohols, fatty acids, fatty acid esters, castor oil derivatives, shea butter and modern surfactants. Besides a vegetable fibre compound for emulsifying and thickening, it also boasts sensory alternatives to silicones and natural peeling beads. In addition, we supply lecithin and its fractions as well as advanced active delivery systems. Moreover, we strive continuously to enlarge our product range.
