Cypress, CA — Metcal is showcasing several new products, including its connection validation hand soldering system with monitoring software, CV-5210, and high thermal demand (HTD) handpiece. The company is introducing its new AC-STC solder tip cleaner. Built on the company’s Smart -
Heat™ technology, connection vali- dation (CV) evaluates the quality of a solder joint by calculating the inter- metallic compound formation and providing closed-loop feedback to the
Hakko Intros RF Induction Heat Micro Soldering Iron
Valencia, CA — American Hakko Products has introduced its FX-1002 micro-soldering iron, designed for use with Hakko FX-100 RF induction heat soldering stations. The company has taken the power and performance of its T31 series tips and compressed them into T35 series micro-tip shapes. The soldering system is useful for sol- dering under microscopes. The FX-1002 includes the same
quick-change feature of the T31 series tips, a burn-resistant cord, fast heating, and robust tip life. The FX-
operator. Metcal has also released CV monitoring software, designed to improve solder process traceability, quickly analyze soldering perform- ance, identify changes in solder con- ditions, and allow the user to make changes to the process. The new high thermal demand
(HTD) solution, made up of a new handpiece and a selection of thermal- ly-efficient cartridges, is designed for use with the company’s MX line of power supplies. HTD transforms a Metcal MX-series soldering station into a powerhouse for applications with high thermal loads, such as dense boards, without damaging sen- sitive components. The new solder tip cleaner removes oxidation and extends sol-
dering tip life. This easy-to-use cleaner senses the tip when inserted into the unit and activates automati-
cally, saving the operator time. Metcal’s HTD solution delivers
more thermal energy, minimizing the risk of component or board dam- age from leaving a soldering iron tip on the solder joint. The system effec- tively delivers thermal energy to the most demanding loads. The HTD solution reduces the risk of prolonged soldering contact and improves time- to-manufacture while maintaining the comfort of the original sleek and
ergonomic handpiece. Contact: Metcal, 12151 Monarch
