CUI Wall Plug Power Adapters Meet Medical Standards

Tualatin, OR —CUI has added a new line of wall plug power adapters to its portfolio of external medical power supplies. The SWM6, SWM6USB, SWM12, and SWM30 series, avail- able with either North American or European input blades, are all certi- fied to IEC 60601-1 edition 3.1 safety standards for 2x MOPP applications and 4th edition EMC requirements. With high efficiency, Class II con-

struction, and no-load power consump- tion as low as 0.075W, these AC-DC power supplies provide customers with efficient global power solutions. The compact 6, 12 and 30W wall plug adapters have a universal input volt- age range of 90 to 264 VAC and input- to-output isolation of 4,000 VAC, with output voltage options from 5 to 48 VDC, depending on the series. The SWM6, SWM6USB, and SWM12 series offer horizontal and vertical blade orientations, while the SWM6USB series also incorporates an integrated USB connector. Over-volt- age, over-current and short circuit pro-

tections are included for all models, as well as a range of DC output connector options.

IEC-certified wall plug power adapters.

Models with input blades for

North American applications carry medical UL/cUL 60601-1 safety certi- fications and meet FCC Part 15B Class B limits for EMI/EMC, while models with European input blades carry medical TUV EN 60601-1 safe-

ty approvals and bear the CE mark. Contact: CUI, Inc., 20050 SW

HARTING: Spring-Loaded Connector Frame

Elgin, IL —With the introduction of a new spring-loaded frame to the Han- Modular® building block system, HARTING has made it easier and faster to create a modular connector, tailored to each application. The Han- Modular lineup now contains over 100 different modules for power, data and signal that can be combined virtually without limitation. The new “hinged frame plus” for

Han-Modular connectors has an additional stainless steel spring that holds the frame in the open position during assembly, so modules can be easily fitted into their proper posi- tion for faster assembly. All module positions (A to F) are

clear, while a black triangle marking indicates the orientation for proper insertion of modules into the frame. The frame windows have been opti- mized so that the modules are auto- matically centered as the frame is closed. Upon locking, there is an audible clicking sound and the spring

Spring-loaded frame. Since the general design of the

previous hinged frame is maintained in the new model, the design is fully compatible with all Han-Modular connectors. For new applications, no compromises need to be made in

terms of mechanical stability. Contact: HARTING North

Verotec Intros Low-Noise Pluggable PSU

Manchester, NH — Verotec has intro- duced its Eplax 3U 7 HP 19 in. (48.3 cm) pluggable power supply unit (PSU), originally developed as a cus- tom solution for highly-sensitive elec- tronic measuring equipment captur- ing experimental ring accelerator data. The new PSU has output noise levels below 4 mVpp and is now avail- able as a standard product for any high-sensitivity application where ripples and spikes on the output volt- age must be as low as possible. The dual-output AC/DC power

supply unit is rated at 45W, with out- puts of 15V, 1A and 24V, 1.2A. A spe- cial filter network for the output rails reduces ripples and spikes to an absolute minimum without violating the unit’s slimline 7 HP width. The quality and stability of the delivered output voltages are high and the noise voltage for all loads from idle to

full load is lower than 4 mVpp. Using the filtering technology developed for this design, ultra-low-noise power
