PACE Intros BGA/SMT Rework System


Vass, NC — PACE Worldwide has introduced its new TF 1800 BGA rework system. The TF 1800 incor- porates a top-side inductive-con- vection heater. The heater pro- vides rapid heat-up and active cooling of the solder joints, resulting in faster throughput and greater process control. The inductive-convection tech -


nology allows for active cooling, providing swift and controlled cool-down, directly through the nozzle. According to the company, its high-efficiency, low-thermal- mass de sign takes far less power to operate and is more reliable than conventional heaters. The system’s automated


reflow head is driven by an advanced stepper motor. The motor provides smooth, high-pre- cision, repeatable movement, with no drift for soft landing of components and 30 µm place- ment accuracy. An advanced vac- uum pick/shaft design is counter- weight-balanced to eliminate placement pressure on compo- nents. It uses high-temperature linear ball bearings for high sen- sitivity during placement and pick up. The company’s exclusive adjustable-height, bottom-side IR preheater allows safe proximity to the PCB for challenging high-thermal- mass boards. Other features include: an HD
