www.us-tech.com New Ultra-Clean Filters from Entegris
Billerica, MA — Entegris has devel- oped a selection of ultra-clean filters
these filters are designed to reduce chemical waste and improve cost of ownership. The suite of products includes the Torrento® X 7 nm, Guardian™ PS 1 nm, and the compa- ny’s new Trinzik® ultra-pure water and high-purity chemical filtration product lines. Features of the Torrento X
series include advanced, critical cleaning for aggressive acids and bases at elevated temperatures, including sulfuric acid (SPM), HCl,
NH4OH and other chemicals, along with a high-flow PTFE membrane with 7 nm retention rating perform- ance to capture the defect-causing
particles that can lead to yield loss. The Guardian PS 1 nm is an
advanced, critical cleaning solution for dilute acids and bases at lower temperatures, including DHF, BOE, SC1, SC2, and other fine chemicals. Its filter uses a high-flow polysulfone membrane that is designed to reduce start up (flush up) time and control particles with 1 nm retention. The company’s Trinzik process
chemicals and ultra-pure water fil- ters are specially designed filtration solutions that increase fine chemical and ultra-pure water quality with 0.1 to 20 nm retention. High-flow, hydrophilic and hydrophobic PTFE
membrane technologies provide high flow rate, increasing filtration throughput.
According to the company, col-
laborations with customers and part- ners have been critical to this series of products, and have guided the company’s investments in filtration technologies. The result is a suite of products that help enable customers to quickly ramp their factories and
maximize yield. Contact: Entegris, Inc., 129

Lansdale Reintroduces Freescale PLL Line
Phoenix, AZ — Lansdale Semi - conductor is reintroducing the ML145170 PLL frequency synthesiz- er circuit with serial interface. Originally designed and built by Motorola/Freescale Semiconductor, Lansdale now has single-source rights to both globally market and manufacture Motorola’s line of PLL circuits. The ML145170 is a single- chip synthesizer capable of direct usage in medium, high and very high frequency bands. The availability of the ML145170
IC is critical in supporting a variety of applications that include automotive products, programmable oscillators, transceivers, smartphones, and com- puters. A special architecture makes this PLL easy to program. Either a bit- or byte-oriented format may be used. Due to the patented BitGrabber™ reg- isters, no address or steering bits are required for random access to the three registers. Tuning can be accom- plished through a two-byte serial transfer to the 16-bit N register. The device has fully-program-
mable R and N counters, an amplifi- er at the Fin pin, on-chip support of an external crystal, a programmable reference output, and both single and double-ended phase detectors with linear transfer functions. Its configu- ration C register allows the part to be tailored to specific applications. Another patented feature allows the C register to shut off unused outputs, minimizing noise and interference. The ML145170 is available in dual
in-line and surface mount packaging. Contact: Lansdale Semiconductor, Inc., 5245 S 39th
