AIC Creates Online Product Configurator Tutorial
West Warwick, RI — Advanced Inter- connections Corporation (AIC) has created a new video that shows how to quickly build an application-spe- cific connector part number with its Build-A-Part™ tool. The video offers a quick tutorial
on how to use the online product con- figurator’s parametric search menus to build an IC socket, adapter or board-to-board connector. As each option is selected from a drop-down menu, such as number of positions, insulator style and terminal type, the connector part number appears on the screen along with helpful product images.
In only a few minutes, the video
shows how a design engineer or buyer can print a part-specific spec
sheet, quickly access a CAD drawing, check stock, or request a quote or sample using the Build-A-Part tool. The Build-A-Part video can be found at

Akrometrix Launches Tabletop Shadow Moiré
Atlanta, GA — Akrometrix has launched its latest warpage metrology system. The new tabletop shadow moiré (TTSM) system responds to the industry’s demand for an ultra-fast tabletop warpage metrology system. The TTSM offers all of the soft-
ware features of the company’s ther- mal warpage metrology systems, but at room temperature. Akrometrix also provides optional modules for both DIC strain/CTE measurements and DFP for discontinuous surfaces. Using a combination of both top and bottom heaters with shadow moiré, the company is providing excellent temperature uniformity in a flexible and configurable system.
The TTSM enables customers to
measure the warpage of substrates up to 300 x 310 mm (11.8 x 12.2 in.) — a 300 mm (11.8 in.) wafer or two JEDEC trays — with the entire measurement process taking less than two seconds. Whether for indi- vidual parts or a JEDEC tray of mul- tiple parts, the TTSM provides a fast and highly-accurate measurement at
