KIC: Industry 4.0 Reflow Management Solution
San Diego, CA — KIC is highlighting its Industry 4.0 automation, traceabil- ity, NPI set up, and machine verifica- tion for thermal processes, including reflow, wave solder and curing. The company pro- vides actionable data across manufacturing lines to make well-informed decisions. With RPI i4.0, KIC has introduced a next level of inspection for the reflow process. KIC RPI i4.0 automati-
cally acquires profile data from each PCB soldered in the reflow or curing oven, in real time. Along with NPI set up tools, machine verification tools and state- of-the-art profile datalogging, this ecosystem offers a real-time thermal process dashboard and traceability, reduced scrap and rework, fast defect troubleshooting, lower energy use, and more. Browser-based data search and analytic features also save engineers valuable time. With RPI i4.0 and KIC’s NPI and process set up tools, all relevant
data can connect to a factory MES or other data collection system to be eas- ily shared with personnel. It can be

Laserssel Highlights Advanced LSR Technology
Dover, NH — Laserssel is highlight- ing its advanced laser selective reflow (LSR) technology at SMTA Guadalajara 2019. LSR is designed to deliver a uniform, defocused laser beam over a specifically tailored area on a PCB. The uniform defocused beam is controlled and delivered to the product by a beam shaping optic module (BSOM) system over a user- defined area. This feature permits the user to
implement novel soldering not possi- ble with conventional techniques. It also allows the selective application of energy to locations that require
soldering, while not heating up ther- mally sensitive areas. LSR is also potentially a means to mitigate or eliminate the warpage of various packages. It provides reliable, robust, high-yielding, and fast sol- dering — one to six seconds of solder-
ing time per selected area. Contact: Laserssel, 49 High

SMT Displays Lineup of Soldering and Curing Systems
Wertheim, Germany — As a manu- facturer of machines for thermal process solutions from –58 to +662°F (–50 to +350°C), SMT Thermal Discoveries is presenting its com- plete portfolio with innovations in the areas of SMT reflow soldering, vacuum soldering, curing, and tem- perature treatment for temperature function tests. All SMT soldering systems can
be controlled with intuitive operating software “Thermal Tools.” With a two-level structure, users can navi- gate to any desired page in only two clicks. Barcode and MES connection, as well as the new remote mainte- nance system “Smart Access,” point the way to the Smart Factory. The multiple award-winning
vacuum reflow soldering system from SMT offers void-free soldering, pre- cise nitrogen control and individually adjustable parameters (evacuation time, vacuum hold time, ventilation time, and vacuum pressure), as well as fast cycle times and reliable trans- fer in the system. The newly developed vertical oven (VH8) is designed for product-
