Würth Elektronik Offers Worldwide Re-Reeling Service

Waldenburg, Germany —Würth Elektronik is now offering a re-reeling service, the latest added value for customers of electronics and electromechanical components. If a customer orders small quantities of

components, these belt sections can be offered on reel with leader and trailer to the compo- nent belt. Customers benefit from labor and time

savings and can also process small quantities of components for prototypes and small series immediately and efficiently with SMT pick- and-place machines. With re-reeling, a further service is now added for orders of reel articles under packag-

Johanson Offers High-Q Capacitors

Camarillo, CA — For many high- power RF applications, the “Q factor” of embedded capacitors is one of the most important characteristics in the design of circuits. Often expressed as a mathematical formula, the Q factor represents the efficiency of a given capacitor in terms of its rate of ener- gy loss. Although many low-power ap-

plications do not require considera- tion of the capacitor’s Q factor, ener- gy losses can increase significantly at higher frequencies leading to per- formance issues even in low-power circuits. For this reason, Johanson Tech-

nology is now offering High-Q capac- itors for high-power RF applications, which are characterized as having ultra-low equivalent series resist- ance (ESR). In addition to minimiz- ing energy loss, Johanson Technolo- gy’s High-Q capacitors reduce ther- mal noise caused by ESR to assist in maintaining desired signal-to-noise ratios. To achieve the lowest energy

losses, Johanson Technology utilizes the lowest loss dielectrics, inks and electrode options. Although most low-cost commodity capacitors utilize nickel electrodes, it is a poor conduc- tor known for high loss at high fre- quencies. Silver and copper electrodes

perform better for most High-Q ap- plications. For the highest-power RF applications, Johanson Technology incorporates silver electrodes in its E-series multilayer RF capacitors in high-power standard 1111, 2525 and 3838 size capacitors. Johanson Technology is offering

High-Q MLCC capacitors in both horizontal and vertical electrode ori- entation configurations when mount- ed in tape and reels. Mounting capacitors in a verti-

cal configuration can effectively ex- tend the usable frequency range of

capacitors. Contact: Johanson Dielectrics,

ing unit size. Customers can now order indi- vidual component quantities in belt sections on a reel with at least 15.8 in. (400 mm) leader and a trailer. The components can then be placed im-

mediately with SMT machines. This new re- reeling service saves customers time and labor, as well as enabling them to set up small quantities of components immediately in

SMT production. Contact: Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH
