Round Lake, IL — No. 934 is an 850°F (454°C) cabinet oven from Grieve, currently used for heat treat- ing at a customer’s facility. Work - space dimensions of this oven meas- ure 38 x 20 x 26 in. (97 x 51 x 66 cm). 10 kW are installed in Incoloy- sheathed tubular heating elements, while a 600 CFM, 1/2 HP recirculat- ing blower provides horizontal air- flow to the workload. This cabinet oven has 6 in. (15

cm) thick, insulated walls, an alu- minized exterior and at Type 420 stainless steel interior. Controls on the No. 934 include a digital indicat- ing temperature controller, 10 in. (25.4 cm) circular chart recorder and SCR power controller.

New Hyde Park, NY — Keystone Electronics has introduced new pack- aging for its diverse selection of quick-fit, PCB terminals. These male tab terminals are specifically de - signed on a continuous reel (strip) to be compatible with standard auto- mated insertion equipment — reduc- ing assembly and processing time. Manufactured from brass with

tin plate, these new quick-fit termi- nals ensure easy installation and sol- dering to a PCB and are packaged on reels as a drop-in replacement for existing product. Cat. no: 1287-R is a 0.25 in. (6.4

mm) male tab with 0.312 in. (7.9 mm) height above the board. For a terminal with additional solder joint strength and designed to keep the terminal perpendicular to the board during and after soldering, the com- pany offers cat. no: 1287-STR. Cat. no: 1289-STR, which has a 0.54 in.

Motorized Linear X-Axis and Rotary Stages from OES

Van Nuys, CA — Optimal Engin - eering Systems has released a new series of high-precision x-axis stages with integral rotary positioning stages. The four x-and-theta stages in the series provide linear travel of 0.6, 1.2, 2, and 3 in. (15, 30, 50, and 75 mm). The rotary table is capable of continuous 360° rotation in either direction and measures 4 in. (100 mm) in diameter. These high-resolution, high-

repeatability x-and-theta stages are suitable for applications that include angular glass cutting and grinding, wafer alignment, semiconductor han- dling, laser cutting, drilling, machin- ing, scanning, inspection, assembly, and testing. The x-axis stages move on high-

precision, crossed roller bearings and are driven by a 0.04 in. (1 mm) per turn precision ground leadscrew at speeds of up to 0.2 in./s (5 mm/s). With 0.1 mil (3 µm) repeatability, the linear resolution of the x-axis stages is 0.02 mil (0.5 µm) at 10 micro-steps per step motor driver in use, and 0.01 mil (0.25 µm) at 10 micro-steps per step motor driver in use. Positional accuracy is 0.4 mil (10 µm). The theta stage is driven by a

precision 180:1 ratio worm gear. Its resolution is 0.001° at 10 micro-steps per step motor driver in use. Its repeatability is 0.005°, positional

(1.4 cm) height above board, is designed for taller requirements.

accuracy is 0.01° and a backlash of 0.005°. A precise pattern of threaded holes in the table enables easy instal- lation of tooling. Two-phase stepper motors are

standard. A knob for manual adjust- ments on each of the stepper motors can be replaced with an incremental encoder for position verification or a servo motor. Compatible motion con-

trollers are available from OES. Contact: Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc., 6901 Woodley
