March, 2019 Nordson SELECT: Modular Selective Soldering

Spokane Valley, WA — Nordson SELECT is now offering modular selective soldering systems, sev- eral of which can be paired with the compa- ny’s inline flux and preheat module to pro- vide a highly flexible selective soldering line. Individual or multiple solder modules

can be easily reconfigured in under an hour, providing increased production flexibility and the ability to rapidly adapt to changes in production requirements. This increased production flexibility through rapid line re- configuration is further enhanced with inter- changeable solder pots equipped with either single selective nozzles, dual selective noz- zles or wave soldering nozzles. Nordson SELECT models equipped with SWAK-OS 4.0 software use a single

user interface for global deployment, allowing worldwide program mobility across multiple ma-

chine platforms. Programs created at one customer location can be utilized at other global manufac- turing sites enabling rapid reconfiguration of selective soldering lines for enhanced manufacturing flexibility. This unique capa- bility provides Nordson SELECT customers with the ability to quickly adjust to unfore- seen or unplanned changes in production re- quirements. The company also offers an automatic

nozzle tinning system. Unlike other nozzle cleaning systems, Nordson SELECT’s patent-pending system does not spray a liq- uid or powdered flux. The system keeps sol- der nozzles very clean by automatically re- moving oxidation residues and re-tinning the surface of the nozzle, without resulting in overspray or contamination of the PCB or the selective soldering ma-

chine. Contact: Nordson SELECT, 3010

Yamaichi and TE Create M12 Push-Pull Connectors

DESIGN & BUILD. IT’S WHAT WE DO.

Aschheim-Dornach, Germany — Ya- maichi Electronics is partnering with TE Connectivity to produce and pro- mote a new kind of push-pull, M12, cir- cular connector with an inner locking design for various industrial applica- tions. The two companies are cooperat- ing to campaign for the design to be in- cluded in a new IEC standard for M12 connectors with push-pull locking.

with a push-pull interface is current- ly fragmented, owing to suppliers of- fering mutually incompatible de- signs. The two companies will work together to establish Yamaichi’s de- sign with inner locking as the accept- ed standard as defined by the IEC. Yamaichi submitted its original pro- posal for the standard in 2019. An important advantage of the Ya- maichi design is that it is compatible with standard M12 connectors. Its push-pull locking mecha-

nism allows fast and secure locking and unlocking and only requires the same outer space when compared with standard screw-type versions. It can also be integrated into devices or

junction boxes. Contact: Yamaichi Electronics
