Handheld 96- & 384-Channel Pipetting System Designed to enable labs to process samples simply and productively the Integra VIAFLO 384 is a new handheld 384- channel electronic pipette that enables fast, precise and easy transfer of 384 samples simultaneously.
The compact VIAFLO 384 comes with a choice of two 384-channel pipetting heads covering the volume ranges of 0.5 - 12.5µl and 5 - 125µl. The new system is fully compatible with VIAFLO 96-channel pipetting heads enabling easy switching between 96-channel and 384-channel pipetting using the same unit.
Like the award winning VIAFLO 96 Handheld Electronic Pipette - the VIAFLO 384 has been designed to be used just like a standard handheld pipette. Therefore, no special skills or training are required to operate it. Servo assisted motor steering ensures that operating the VIAFLO 384 is both effortless and precise. The VIAFLO 384 features the company's popular Touch Wheel™ pipette user interface enabling simple and fast programming of a wide range of pipetting modes including repeat dispense, serial dilute and mixing routines.

Fast plate filling and replication, reagent addition or serial
dilutions in 96- and 384-well plates is now as easy as pipetting with a standard electronic pipette into a single tube.
Masterflex® C/L® Tubing Pumps from Cole-Parmer now feature a
redesigned head with significant mechanical and ergonomic improvements. The new head provides more secure tubing retention and more consistent performance over the full range of tubing sizes and flow. A single motion opens the cover and releases the occlusion bed for quicker and easier tubing changes. Tubing retainers are self adjusting to accommodate tubing of different diameters.
The peristaltic pumps are encased in a stackable, compact ¼-DIN housing for mounting in an equipment rack or for convenient placement on a lab bench. Pump head construction is of chemical- resistant engineered plastics and stainless steel. In addition, these pumps offer the flexibility of remote start/stop via contact closure, reversible flow, and a max-speed button for fast priming.
Three motor speed ranges deliver a flow range of 0.002 to 43mL/min depending on tubing size. These pumps accept microbore/ autoanalysis tubing in continuous lengths for fast, easy loading with no occlusion or tension adjustment. Masterflex tubing is available in rolls of 50 or 100 feet, cut to length for an uninterrupted flow path with no fittings or connections.

The VIAFLO 384 comes with 10 pre-defined pipetting modes enabling the system to be used productively almost immediately. A further 20 user designated custom programs allow even the most diverse and complex pipetting operations. The VIAFLO 384 can be connected to a PC with VIALINK software enabling easy custom program exchange and firmware upgrades.
Using the VIAFLO 384, position settings can be defined by the user ensuring optimal access to all types of 384-well plates. The VIAFLO 384 is fully compatible with VIAFLO GripTip pipette tips which provide a perfect seal everytime and won't fall off during use. New extended length 12.5 µl GripTips ensure the system can be used to effectively process deep well blocks.

Small High-Vacuum Pump with Unique Floating- Suspension Technology Introduced
Agilent Technologies Inc has introduced a high-performance turbomolecular vacuum pump, the TwisTorr 304 FS, which is the first in a new series of high-vacuum pumps featuring Agilent’s novel floating-suspension technology.
This technology can be used in a variety of applications and markets, including academic and government research, and the analytical, industrial and nanotech/semiconductor industries. Running at 60,000 rpm, it pumps
up to 250 litres per second for N2. It also provides dramatic improvements in reliability and increases light gas compression ratios 100-fold.
TwisTorr drag stages guarantee high pumping speed and compression ratios for hydrogen and helium. The pump also provides unparalleled throughput and high foreline tolerance, as well as low power-consumption and operating temperature.
The new system’s breakthrough floating-suspension technology ensures low vibration and acoustical noise, optimal working conditions for the bearings, extended operating life, and exceptional stability for demanding applications and instruments such as scanning electron microscopes.
The product also features a compact rotor design that reduces power consumption and system footprint. Its unique bearing and dry lubricated suspension system is maintenance-free, eliminates oil and risk of contamination, and permits installation in any orientation.
