SPECIAL PREVIEW BY OFFICIAL MEDIA SPONSORS INTERNATIONAL LABMATE
SHOW PREVIEW by Gwyneth Astles Dubai again plays host to ARABLAB, the analytical industry’s
most powerful annual trade show. Dubai will again host ARABLAB, the laboratory and instrumentation industry’s biggest international show in the Middle East and Asia, and the only event that covers all of the important growth markets of the Middle East, China, the Indian sub-continent, south-east Asia and Africa. Now in its 30th year, ARABLAB has grown from just 40 pioneering exhibitors from a handful of countries to more than 700 of the industry’s leading companies from all over the globe – focussing on laboratory technology, biotechnology, nanotechnology, environmental sciences, robotics and automation, analytical instrumentation, and measurement and testing – and is regarded by the industry as one of the most important annual events in the calendar, giving access to the world’s most vibrant petrochemical sector and providing an introduction to the world’s biggest biotechnology market. All the industry’s foremost companies will be exhibiting, with national groups from Austria, China, Germany, India, Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom, and with many seeking distributors throughout the region.
More Visitors Visitor numbers too have grown. From a few hundred in 1983, ARABLAB now welcomes some 10,000 buyers and specifiers representing just about every discipline - grain technicians and forensic criminologists, university professors and industrial chemists, molecular geneticists and metallurgists, medical researchers and marine scientists all flock to Dubai from more than 70 countries to evaluate and purchase the latest technology and equipment. ARABLAB provides a unique showcase for the industry, drawing buyers, specifiers, end-users and distributors from all over the world, as well as providing a forum for industry leaders involved in medical, petroleum and environmental research and analysis, laboratory automation, and data process management.
The rapidly developing infrastructure of the Middle East and Asia has resulted in a huge demand for new and refurbished medical laboratory and clinical research facilities throughout the region. Laboratory projects, including mainstream sectors such as environment, health, education and petrochemicals are also being undertaken in China, the Indian subcontinent and throughout south-east Asia.
Dedicated Sections With its dedicated sections, the entire exhibition - 20% larger than the 2012 event - has been designed to make it easy for visitors to find suppliers relevant to their area of interest.
MEDILAB - the buying source for effective Medical Research - addresses the needs of the growing Medical Laboratory Management and Clinical Chemistry Management sectors, enabling manufacturers to meet with medical technicians and clinical chemists.
BIOLAB - the one stop shop for the Bio Business – is a dedicated sector for the Life Sciences & Biotechnology industry.
PETROLAB - the research source for the petrochemical industry - provides face-to-face opportunities for technicians working in analysis, quality control, research, development and testing. ENVIROLAB – the key to a better environment - makes it easy for specialist manufacturers to meet technicians and analysts working in the environmental pollution sector. NANOLAB - tiny steps leading to giant leaps - featuring the very latest state-of-the-science technologies.
Expanded Programme of Seminars Complementing the exhibition itself is ARABLAB’s packed seminar programme, which offers invaluable opportunities to gain information about the industry’s latest developments, as well as a convenient forum for discussion and networking. So popular have the seminars proved that the 2013 programme includes over 100 sessions, with discussion groups covering a wide variety of topics. All visitors to ARABLAB are entitled to attend seminars free of charge. However, with seats reserved on a first come, first served basis, the organisers recommend that visitors book their seats in advance on line at
