Planning Permission Granted for our New Development We are very excited to announce that we

have

received Planning permis- sion within the last week for our New Development at Park South, Youghal Rd. This major development

will greatly improve our playing facilities for our existing members and also allow us to cater for the fu- ture generations of hurlers, footballers and camogie players to come. A lot of work has been done be- hind the scenes for many years and we are now very excited to share our good news with our community. Over the past 30 / 40

Years many attempts were made at

acquiring land but unfortunately for var-

ious reasons they all fell through, we now have a site which is equi distant from the Town centre as our existing Clonmult Me- morial Park site. In time this Community driven project will have a 1mile walkway loop facilitating the health and well-being of those within the wider community through all year round participation in physical activity. Phase 1 of the devel- costing approx feature an

opment €750,000 will

entrance, car parking area and 3 pitches, one which will include Flood Light- ing.

We expect to commence

works late Aug / early Sept 2018. The club purchased its

current location at Clon- mult Memorial Park in 1958. Our current facility, comprising of only one playing

pitch, is widely recognised as one of the

best facilities in the coun- try. With the population of the greater Midleton area set to increase to over 20,000 in the next 10 years the need for extra land was paramount and was a major focus of the club’s membership. The club is grateful to the local schools for sharing their

facilities

as without this cooperation we could not function. The launch of the club’s

5 year Development Plan 2015-2020 was another exciting chapter in the his- tory of the Club. The fact that this is a now collabo- rative effort after we estab- lished our ONE CLUB be- tween the Adult , Juvenile, Camogie & Ladies Football Club’s makes this one of the most exciting and pro- gressive events in the club’s history and bodes well for the future.

Finally congrats and

well done to all those in the Facilities Committee who

Junior A Football Championship Pride of place goes

to

our footballers who gave a fantastic performance last Tuesday evening when they comprehensively defeated Carrigtwohill in the East Cork semi final in Lisgoold by 2-21 to 0-07. Right from the off there was only go- ing to be one winner of this game as some very good interplay and point taking had us leading at the break by 0-11 to 0-05 (scoring all eleven points from play).

We continued to dominate possession throughout the second half and goals from Cillian Hurley and Alywin Kearney along with a good spread of points finished the game long before the final whistle. Well done to all the play-

ers and management on this fine victory which puts us into our first final since 1992 against Fr O’Neills, the date and venue have yet to be decided. Team: Patrick White,

Adam Daly, Luke Dineen, Cathal Gunning (0-01), Padraig O’Farrell, Peter Dowling, Sean O’Meara, Eoin Moloney, Luke O’Farrell (0-01), Garan Manley (0-06, 1 free), Aly- win Kearney (1-02), Cor- mac Beausang (0-05), Cil- lian Hurley (1-01), Johnny Comer (0-01 free) & Kier- an Mulcahy (0-03). Subs used Cormac Walsh (0-01) & Shane Ryan Referee James Berming- ham of Bride Rovers.
