Coffee morning The above event, organised by Councillor Susan McCa- rthy, was held in ‘My Place’ on Saturday last and it was well supported. Susan wishes to extend sincere thanks to all who attended, bought raffle tickets and she hoped that everyone present enjoyed the very appetising refresh- ments. She paid tribute to those who helped her, and especially the very kind staff in ‘My Place’ for making their very attractive premises available for the day. The community of East Cork and all over Ireland are praying for you Aaron and hoping for good results and a safe return home for you and your parents. No doubt the journey in hospital takes time but you will have great success which is what your supporters are hop- ing for. From Kathleen Woulfe

Cobh Regatta Coffee Morning Goes Down a Treat
by CLAIRE O’ DONOGHUE
The Cobh People’s Re-
gatta held a Coffee Morn- ing in Harbour Browns in Cobh last week and was a great success. Speaking with Sarah
PRO of the Cobh Regat- ta
Committee
O’Connor, she said,
“We were delighted with the turnout. We also had a town bucket collection the same day and were very happy with the re- sults”. Spar, Newtown, in Cobh also donated deli- cious chocolate World Cup themed muffins that went down a treat with all the children who came along on the day. Members of the committee baked and supplied cakes and treats and Sarah said, “Anything that was left over was do- nated to the hard work- ing staff and patients in Cobh Hospital.” The cof- fee morning alone raised €397.81. The Cobh People’s Re-
gatta would like to thank Gary Brown, proprietor of Harbour Browns, for host-
ing the event and supply- ing all the tea and coffee. “Also”, said Sarah, “We’d like to express our heart- felt thanks to the people of Cobh for their continuing support”. All the proceeds made from the day’s events will go towards the ever popular fireworks that take place during the Festival, which runs from August 17 through to August 19, one of Europe’s oldest Re- gattas which always draws a great crowd. Be sure
to lend your
support as the Commit- tee’s fundraising continues in the run up to the main event!
