Team - Under-18 Competition - Youth-Cup Carrigtwohill United


reached the last 16 of the National FAI Youth Cup and were rewarded with a home tie against Kilfrush Crusaders at Ballyadam Park on last Sunday 18th Kilfrush,


. who had


made the journey from Hostipal, Co. Limerick, managed to get a very


early lead from a shot off the crossbar. The heavy pitch con-


ditions suited the more experienced side but the Carrigtwohill were giving it their all but the visitors struck again with a lovely finish from the edge of the box soon after the restart. To their credit, the


Carrigtwohill lads had Kilfrush under immense pressure for the remain- der of the match and


got their reward when


Tristan Horgan scored a penalty to give the large crowd of supporters an exciting last 10 minutes. However, despite nu-


merous chances created, the equalizer did not come and it is the Limer- ick team that progress to the quarter finals. Well done to the team and management
