PANSTADIA & ARENA MANAGEMENT AUTUMN 2013
Recycling artificial turf Even properly maintained artifi cial turf pitches still need to be replaced after a maximum of 15 years and for the fi rst time FSB attendees will be able to see fi rst-hand a machine designed to make this process easier, cleaner and more cost-effective.
The leading artifi cial turf machinery company SMG Sportplatzmaschinenbau will present on their stand their new range of TurfMuncher fi eld reclamation
ProGame – shock of the new
Trocellen is presenting the XC PLUS artifi cial turf shock pad product range and the brand new solution for playground installations.
Visit the Trocellen stand at FSB to meet up with the latest developments in the artifi cial turf market. ProGame shock pads’ new generation, the XC PLUS range, has been designed for high performance drainage pitches, combining the properties of the traditional ProGame shock pads with the drainage concept.
As an absolute novelty, Trocellen will also introduce its C cut X NW product range for the fi nest playground installations, to be used with artifi cial turf for the greatest performance.
At the Trocellen exhibition booth representatives and technicians will be waiting for you to show the advantages of using the company’s shock pad: easy and fast installation, quality which meets very high standards, stability of the product due to the XC cut patent pending pattern, and great performance in all-weather circumstances.
Come to visit and Trocellen will provide you with all the information, the necessary documentation and the tailored advisory each and every project needs. Let ProGame support you to meet the highest performance requirements.

machines. Developed in association with the company FieldAway, the TurfMuncher is able to lift the turf, separate the infi ll and also roll up the turf, all in one process. Of crucial importance is that no damage is caused to the base despite this normally being the most diffi cult part of the project.
Of additional signifi cance is that both the turf and infi ll can be easily recycled and reused, thanks to proprietary removal equipment which both separate nearly
all the infi ll from the turf and wind the turf into a tightly wound roll on the back of the machine.
With a reduced deinstallation time in comparison to traditional methods and reduced crew and transportation costs due to the level of infi ll extraction, there is sure to be great interest in each of the three different versions of the machine on display in Cologne this October.
Sports turf options
Artifi cial turf is still the trend for surfaces at outdoor athletic facilities, especially in countries with an unreliable climate. Manufacturers of artifi cial turf and fi ller granules will be on hand at FSB to present enhanced materials and products that are even more suitable for football fi elds in particular, as they’re easy to take care of and last a long time. These materials include hollow fi bres that store moisture, as well as plastic granules that can even withstand exposure to intense sunlight in desert regions. All of the components for such turf are designed with the growing requirements for recyclability in mind.
Markus Deimling, Managing Director of the German company Polytan, points out that the product requirements in this segment vary around the world:
“
Whereas sport clubs in Germany have always been very focused on premium quality and sustainability, athletic organizations in other countries are interested in different fi eld surface attributes – things like colour or cost, for example.
FSB will also showcase new developments that combine artifi cial and natural turf in order to better exploit the positive attributes of both. These innovations involve either weaving artifi cial fi bres into natural sport fi eld grass or incorporating such grass into a fabric made of artifi cial turf. Robot mowers for sport fi elds will also be displayed, and new machines for the upkeep of artifi cial surfaces. These machines brush sand and granules into synthetic turf and also automatically remove small objects like jewellery and hairpins. New options are also available for those who wish to cover their fi elds for a special event.
”
New marketing options are being made possible by the use of individually manufactured artifi cial turf mats which can display club or sponsor logos on the sides of football fi elds.
