In August 2016, LBS ac- quired Talbot Timber Ltd, the largest acquisition in its 85-year history. The business had three builders’ merchant branches, a Truss & Tim- ber Engineering business, and Timber and Plywood distribution business, all in Pembrokeshire. The three builders’ merchant branches have been rebranded and integrated into the LBS network. Talbot Timber con- tinues as a separate special- ist entity, supplying trusses & pozi joists and machined timber to other builders’ merchants and major con- tractors across South Wales. Set up way back in 1869, JT Dove has expanded stead- ily over the ensuing 148 years. Early in 2016 saw the launch of a new build- ing materials branch and plumbing & heating implant at Darlington.
This was closely followed by a brand new build at Sea- houses, comprising a new building materials branch and plumbing & heating implant.
