The Anglesey-based indep- dent merchant business made three major acquisi- tions in the last 12 months. Shropshire Building Supplies branches, and in October the branches of Simmonds of Stafford and W. Dop & Son, a specialist plumbing and heating business in Pwllheli (Gwynedd). These acquisitions in- creased the total number of Huws Gray branches to 57. Shropshire Building Sup- plies was established in 1977, and was one of the most respected independ- ent suppliers of building materials in the region. The branches in Leebotwood, Newport, Ludlow, Shrews- Shrewsbury Plumbing Out- let, will complement the ex- isting Huws Gray branches in Shrewsbury, Telford and link up geographically with branches in other regions.
