Daily life of a franchisee One day is rarely the same as another in a vehicle rental franchise and a typical day varies depending on the structure that a franchisee chooses for their business. Many franchisees take a hands-on approach – working at the sharp end with a smaller number of staff – directly at the coal face. Others structure their business in such a way that they are steering frontline staff while working to their own management strengths. In either case, a new franchisee would need to spend time on the ‘shop fl oor’ to fully comprehend the nature of the business and to understand what is required of the employees.
