The 2010 Foghat Chardonnay (Santa Maria
Valley, California) makes the finest use of white grapes this writer has ever witnessed. The grapes from Sierra Madre are amazing. This chardonnay boasts a high aromatic complexity, blending oak, hints of vanilla, tropical fruit and buttery aromas. The taste is crisp and clean and downright delightful. It has a mysterious edge to it that sets it apart from other Chardonnays. The secret to its wonderful taste is that the winemaker, Steve Rasmussen, adds 5% Pinot Blanc to the blend. That really makes it stand out. Foghat Cellars currently offers several vin-
tages, including their Pinot noir and Chardonnay, along with a fine cabernet sauvi- gnon. Five Stars

Chardonnay. As an aside, I was never really a wine drinker at all until recently. This is one of the two wines that got me interested. And then came my favorite, Foghat. (See review previous page.) Five Stars
F. Stephen Miller Angels Reserve Viog- nier Lodi, California 2014 I couldn't believe this Viognier when I
tasted it. While my roomate does not like sweet wines, I am beginning to think that I do. I simply loved the crisp bite and sweet- ness of Miller’s white wine. Since I always loved the Creedence Clear-

Chateau Sainte Roseline Lampe De Meduse Cru Classe 2010 (Provence, France). A nice French wine with aromas of citrus,
pear and white flowers. This wine combines freshness and boldness along with a touch of acidity. The winery is owned by the dynamic Aurélie Bertin Teillaud, who produces a range of wines full of style and finese. Artistic Aside: The bottle is quite beautiful, rounded at the bottom and slender at the top. This one is a winner. Five Stars
Woodbridge Lightly Oaked Chardonay 2013 (California) This one is seriously a delightfully pleasing
wine, with citrus and green apple auromas. The wine is further enhanced by nuances of fruit and florals, and a refreshing, lemony taste on the palate. The light touch of oak aging helps to retain the fruitiness of
water Revival song about Lodi, I decided to research it a bit. Apparently, while the region is just a little off the beaten path, it is produc- ing sensational wines at un-Californian prices. Serve it deliciously cold (I like it on ice) and this smooth thirst-quencher will keep you and your friends cool all summer long. Five Stars

Antica Cantina le Lodole, Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2010. Piemonte, Italy. Dolcetto is Piemonte's traditional every
day wine. It's light, fresh, fruity, lively, with moderate acidity, and aromas of mulberry, licorice, and a pleasant bitter almond bite that allows it to go very well with everyday foods like pizza and burgers. A very nice “every day” wine. Five Stars •
