THE VINE Welcome to Issue #14 of KUDZOO. Thanks for checking us

out! We are very excited this issue, as this is the biggest issue yet! Jam packed with interviews, reviews and more. We have a very interesting audio interview with New Or-

leans icon Cyril Neville, in which he talks about his band Royal Southern Brotherhood and recording at FAME Studios in Mus- cle Shoals. There’s also an interview with Billy Bob Thornton and the rest of the fabulous Boxmasters, as well as two different concert reviews of the band. Other concert reviews include Wet Willie, Blackberry Smoke, Paul Thorn, Devon Allman and more. I have been traveling more than I have in nearly 20 years, so

we have “Road Trip” articles that include my trip to Memphis for the grand opening of the Blues Museum, the Blues Awards and visits to all the great museums in town; a trip to Phoenix, Arizona for Comicon; and full coverage of my Rebel Yell book signing tour including road trips to Muscle Shoals, Macon, Jacksonville, Nashville and more. You may notice that our Food section has expanded greatly.

Our Dixie Diner focuses on a Spartanburg, SC institution called The Nu-Way, and we have mini-reviews of restaurants from South Carolina to Arizona and all points in between! We are happy to present a brand new feature this issue, our

Wine Column, this time featuring the awesome grapes of Foghat Cellars. (Yes, named for the rocking band, and headed up by founding drummer Roger Earl and his lovely wife Linda.) We also have several reviews of other wines, so take a taste and tell us if you agree. There are reviews of new releases from The Chris Robinson

Brotherhood, Marcus King Band, Alabama Shakes and many others, as well as a handful of book reviews as well. And we pay tribute to our friend and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Bob Burns of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Be sure to enter our Boxmasters contest and win an auto-

graphed copy of their killer new double-CD set, Somewhere Down the Road. Y’all take care until next time. Keep them cards and letters (e-mails and tweets) coming in folks. We love hear- ing from you!
