the closest I will ever come to seeing the origi- nal Van Halen up close and personal. When I say they sounded like Van Halen, I
am not kidding. Ernie Berru is a dead ringer for David Lee Roth, looks and sound, same with Derrick as Eddie Van Halen, and anyone who can duplicate Ed’s fiery style and finger taps deserves to be a star in his own right!
moves including Roth’s famous jumps from the drum riser. So I doubt we will ever see the original Di-
amond Dave Fab Four together again, but if you want the net best thing, check out Fan Halen. And hey, fifteen bucks for a ticket beats the heck out of what we would have to pay for front row seats for Van Halen! Just an entertaining, rocking show start to finish.

North Mississippi Osborne: A collabo- ration of North Mississippi Allstars, Anders Osborne and the Holy Funk Spirit The Ardmore Music Hall Ardmore, PA February 28, 2015 I am still sorting through the after-effects
The guys who play Alex Van Halen and Michael Anthony are both dead on with the sound as well. The show was made up of all the hits, and
everyone in the packed out venue was singing along to every song. It was so impressive, I believe there were some who actually thought they had seen the real Van Halen! From the opening power chords of “Unchained” to “Runnin’ With The Devil,” “Dance The Night Away,” “I’ll Wait” (“are you for real its so hard to tell, from just a magazine. A favorite of mine when I was in college at SMC.) “Ice Cream Man,” “Hot for Teacher,” “The Cradle Will Rock” and my all time favorite VH song, “Panama.” The boys were balls to the wall all night long, and when encore time came, it was predictable (especially since we had a psychic with us!) the last song would be their biggest hit, “Jump,” but knowing that took nothing away from the fact that it sounded great and the band was doing all the stage
of having experienced live the music of “North Mississippi Osborne” the evening of Feb. 28, 2015. Mind you, the sheer fact that this concert is lingering within my head days after it all went down is an amazing feat in and of itself. This venue seemed to be just the perfect size for this band; the show itself was close to 3 hours long, with no intermission at all. The sold-out crowd was more than ready for N.M.O. by the time the first note was played. North Mississippi Allstars (brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson and Lightnin’ Malcom) bring a plethora of rootsy high-en- ergy numbers to this project. North Mississippi Allstars were formed in
1996, the product of a special time for mod- ern Mississippi Country Blues. Luther and Cody Dickinson soaked up the music of their father, Memphis legend Jim Dickinson, and absorbed the North Mississippi legacy while playing and shaking it down in the juke joints with their blues ancestors, R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Otha Turner. And their musical families were at their peak, making classic records and touring the world. Eventu-
