wines there. We found a cool company called Vino Shippers that allows us to ship wine to 22 states, so we are now able to ship our wine from our website. We plan to continue making small quanti-

ties (3-400) cases of wine periodically as we continue to sell. We will see how it goes. Es- tablishing a wine 'brand' is hard work and the wine needs to speak for itself and people need to go back for seconds for the stores and restaurants to continue to handle it. We don't want people to just buy it and put

What has been your best seller? Roger: Probably the Chardonnay, but it's hard to say. All of the wines have been very well received. But the 2010 Chardonnay did win a 2014 Bronze Medal at the Orange County Fair. And they are all delicious. Steve is a great winemaker!

What do you personally look for in a wine? Roger: Tasting and drinking wines is a very personal experience. One person may say there is too much of this or too little of that. But it's all what you are enjoying in a wine. I personally like the Chardonnay's that come from the Central Coast of California.

What are the future plans for Foghat Wines? Roger: Ask Linda :)

Linda: When we first got involved with Steve, I wanted nothing to do with the selling of wine since I am so busy just managing Foghat and running the record company and every- thing else we do. But selling wine is a unique adventure and not like selling CD's. Each state has it's own laws going back to prohibi- tion days, so you need to get licensed in each state. Steve sells the wine to a distributor in California and we have since become a New York State licensed Winery and Distributor so we can sell in New York and also make some

it on a shelf as a piece of 'merch'. We really want them to drink it! Then use the bottle as a souvenir or use it as a water decanter on the table like they do in Napa. But please, drink it!

As an aside, fill me in on the current state of the band and what you guys are up to... Roger: We are touring and it is getting pretty busy. Our agency is terrific and the venues are great. All the guys in the band are playing great, and we are just enjoying playing. Also working on a new record and I'm really ex- cited about it. We are going to have a number of guests on this one which will be a blast. •

FOGHAT WINES: A REVIEW Make no mistake about it, I am a Chardon-

nay fan. I have never been a big lover of red wines. Even still, the Foghat 2010 Pinot Noir (Santa Maria Valley, California) was mighty tasty - as good as any red wine I have ever tasted. In fact, of those I have tried over the years, the Foghat red is the best, hands down. This is a bold, rich and layered and complex Pinot Noir. Hints of earthiness, with a whiff of spice. Fruit and light floral aromas help to accentuate the flavor. Full in body, and taste. Be sure to allow it to breathe for 30 minutes prior to consuming, and serve at room tem- perature.
