Venues such as the Lambertville Station Restaurant and Inn in Lambertville, NJ are enticing to small meeting groups because of their personalized service, attractive surroundings, and ample amenities
pattern of one event in this region every few years. Regardless, guests are remem- bered by our staff and greeted with warmth. This is something that we cannot screen for in an interview process, but rather it comes from the culture of our property.”
Cara Federici, director of sales and mar- keting at Skytop Lodge, talks about her property and how they also accommo- date groups of all sizes visiting the Pocono Mountains region. “Skytop Lodge is a lux- ury resort, state-of-the-art conference cen- ter, and outdoor adventure center situat- ed on 5,500-acres in the Pocono Mountains,”says Federici. “Groups seek out Skytop Lodge because of the serene ambiance, away from the hustle and bus- tle, and in the natural back-to-basics type of setting that allows for a more focused and uninterrupted
experience.Addition- ally, our 85 years of authentic service excellence continues to exceed guest expectations.”
In particular, their team works hand-in- hand with visiting meeting groups to make sure that all of their needs are met, especially when it comes to smaller groups that may not have as much meet- ing experience. “We give personalized, one-on-one attention backed by 85 years of service excellence,”says Federici. “We offer dedicated group coordinators who assist in event planning, contracting and execution from start-to-finish. We also boast intimate meeting space and out- door team building, which are ideal for

smaller groups looking to grow their inter- nal relationships.”
To Federici, working with small meeting groups helps to foster that personal con- nection between coordinator and client, allowing for a successful meeting rela- tionship. “Focusing on smaller groups allows us an opportunity to get to know the needs of our clients on a personal level, and affords us an opportunity to ‘wow’ them every time. Doing so also shows our dedication to developing a sense of community and relationship.”
In Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Mallory Kutz, director of sales at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, talks about the meet- ing spaces and services available at her property, especially as it relates to smaller groups. “We offer affordable meeting space for groups of 40 or less. Our meeting room rental is usually less than $200.00 for an entire day. We allow outside food in our meeting rooms, too, which is another way to be more cost effect. They can order pizza or subs and supply beverages and snacks without paying costly ‘per per- son’ charges that include service charges and a minimum number of people. We offer a variety of room set ups and always offer a complimentary podium, TV, and white board that can double as a projec- tion screen.”
Kutz notes that the bottom line is that the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Stroudsburg makes it possible for smaller groups to host at their property because
they make it more cost-effective. “We make it affordable to host a meeting for a small group. We don’t require a minimum number of people, and we don’t charge service charges. We can block off dis- counted rooms. We allow them to bring in outside food.”
To Kutz, the fact that their spaces are smaller also makes them a perfect fit for small groups. “We only have a small meet- ing room, so small groups are perfect for us. Most of the time, they end up turning into repeat business. That small meeting you hosted many times turns into a group that comes back many times a year.”
At Crescent Lodge and Restaurant, locat- ed on 28 pristine acres in the Pocono Mountains, Gabriela Buresova Ross describes her facilities and what the prop- erty offers meeting groups. “We have selec- tion of standard rooms at the lodge and/or cottages with working fireplaces and/or sunken Jacuzzi tubs,”says Ross. “We offer free Wi-Fi in our main lodge and 30 uniquely decorated guestrooms that feature plush bedding. Some of our cot- tages are equipped with double beds and full kitchens. Complimentary Continental breakfast is served each morning in the main lodge featuring hot coffee or tea along with fresh fruit and pastries.”
Crescent Lodge’s on site restaurant fea- tures classic American Cuisine accompa- nied by fine wine and piano music. “Also, the inn is an ideal location for meetings, weddings, bridal showers and more,” she
