tion. By 1895, renowned golf course archi- tect Spencer Oldham had laid out one of the original golf courses in America at Bedford Springs, and shortly after the turn of the 20th century, one of the first Olympic-size indoor swimming pools was added to this storied resort.

Over the years, Omni Bedford Springs Resort attracted 10 U.S. Presidents and numerous dignitaries, including such notables as Daniel Webster, Andrew Jackson and Zachary Taylor.

Planners are quick to see the significance of these queries and eagerly book their events and meetings with us.”

One group in particular that has long been linked to Omni Bedford Springs is the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Not long after it was issued its charter in 1895, the organization was launched at an initial meeting here. Photos in the tavern depict this very event. Since then, the associa- tion’s educational programs are regularly scheduled at the resort.

“People looking for a secluded getaway like our facility,” points out Rudder. “They escape the hectic city and corporate life and walk away with more clarity. This
