She adds, “For our region, the smaller meet- ing group is ideal. They tend to be more flexible when it comes to property size and even their event dates.”
Altland further notes that the bureau wants everyone to come to the Hershey- Harrisburg region. “We like dealing with smaller groups as well as larger groups. Anything we can do to help a group be suc- cessful, that’s what we want to do. We try not to say ‘this is what you have to do,’ but instead remain flexible. We have such an expansive list of attractions, it’s hard to find groups who cannot find something they are interested in while here. We urge meet- ing and event planners to give the Hershey Harrisburg Region a serious look if they have not considered us before.”

The Inn at Pocono Manor is a property in the Pocono Mountains Region that has been accommodating smaller groups with- in its meeting space and sleeping rooms for over a century.
Assistant director of sales for the inn, Susan Corrigan, describes the meeting space at her facility. “We provide meeting and event space for events of 10 to 500 peo- ple,” says Corrigan. “We have done larger meetings with corporations who are flexi- ble about their meeting layout. We offer team building and general group activities that are customized to the group demo- graphic, goals and budget. We provide cus- tomized packages featuring only the food and beverage or other services that you request, rather than a preset package that may include costs for items, meals or serv- ices that you do not need. Our clients work with a sales person who remains involved by working along with a dedicated event coordinator and group rooms manager from inception to execution.”
To Corrigan, the team at the Inn at Pocono Manor doesn’t look at their visitors as fit- ting into a particular size, but instead just focuses on what that group’s objectives are and helps them to fill those goals no matter how large or small.
