CARNIVAL BAR Anyone for Pimm’s?
Nothing beats a refreshing glass of Pimm’s on a summer’s day! The initiated know where to find us, but for those of you that have yet to experience the exquisite blend of Pimm’s No.1, lemonade and fresh fruit, you must pop in to the popular Carnival Pimm’s Bar located next to the Carnival Bar on Sandpit Field.
Here you can join the happy ranks of Pimm’s connoisseurs and be served by our friendly Pimm’s People who will titillate your taste buds with a glass or jug of Pimm’s!
This very British drink is almost as much a tradition as the cup of tea, and we British down the gin-based drink by the gallon during the summer months.
So, just look for the Pimm’s Flags, the Pimm’s People and pop in for a Perfectly Palatable Pimm’s!

We have Carling lager and ‘Magners Golden Draught’ extra-cold draught cider, as well as ‘Pear Cider’ available in bottles. With its continued rise in popularity, we are proud to offer, once again, locally brewed ales from the Isle of Purbeck Brewery. These ales are brewed in Studland, less than 5 miles from the Carnival Arms, and delivered on a daily basis ensuring that our ale is at its peak when served. There is also a selection of quality wines supplied by Stowells and soft drinks and crisps for the children.
The marquee plays host to an ever-growing variety of events both during the day and evening. Check out the ‘Music in the Marquee’ section of this programme on pages 34 & 35.
All of this entertainment is FREE, yes, FREE! You have the opportunity to see and hear a lot of seriously good, live bands!
Please remember, Carnival Bar is a huge and important part of Carnival Week, so do come to join us. Bar opening times are subject to change and demand.
CARNIVAL 2012 Ellis Jones, Solicitors WHAT’S NOT MY LINE O
COMPETITION The ‘What’s Not My Line’ competition has been a traditional Carnival event for many years. The competition is an excellent opportunity to window-shop, as well as giving you the chance of winning a CASH prize.
And it couldn’t be simpler - all you need to do is find the object in each participating shop’s window that is not for sale, because it does not belong in its normal range of merchandise. Many of Swanage’s shopkeepers take pride in becoming more cunning each year, so, keep your eyes peeled… Prizes of £10 and £5 will be awarded to the winners. In the event of a tie, a draw will be made. Please refrain from entering the shops to ask the staff.
Forms available from: The Carnival Information Caravan and Tourist Information situated in Shore Road at a cost of 50 pence per form.
Completed forms should be handed back in to the caravan or Tourist Information by 12 noon on Monday 6th August.
Return your form even if you can’t find all the items as you may still be in with a chance!
