Wow! What a ‘frolicking’ way to start of our week of Music in the Marquee, making its first Carnival appearance, the Boot Hill All Stars banjo driven, hoedown, stompy ska, rock-a-billy sound, is guaranteed to permeate every moving muscle of your body!
Charismatic and having a wide audience appeal, the band has played support to The Beat, The Wurzels, Hayseed Dixie and The Damned, to name just a few.
In a nutshell; banjos, quiffs, red mohawks, ladies in feathers, lots and lots of leaping around and general jollity!
HELLS BELLS Saturday 28th July, after Fireworks ’til 11.00pm
Formed in 1996 and hailing from Bristol, Hells Bells has evolved into perhaps the most well known and professional AC/DC tribute band in the United Kingdom.
From the blistering scream of the vocals, the duck-walks, the pounding rhythm & bass and the frenzied schoolboy antics to the booming cannons and pyrotechnics at the finale. The camaraderie of all 5 musicians is second to none and the excitement & passion shines through the music.
The band play material from both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras, covering four decades of classic no-nonsense, foot stomping rock ’n’ roll!
CARWASH Sunday 29th July, 8.30pm to 9.30pm
Carwash, the original tribute band to the 70s, has been bringing the house down all over the world since 1993 with the funkiest disco sounds around!
Made up of some of the UK’s top session musicians, the band has gained international recognition for its dazzling recreation of the sounds and the atmosphere of the 70s disco experience.
Songs from Chic, Sister Sledge, Labelle, Kool & the Gang, The Bee Gees, James Brown and of course Rose Royce, are just part of a set guaranteed to get you into a real Sunday Night Fever…
DEBBIE & TREV Saturday 4th August 7.00pm to 8.00pm
Debbie and Trev are a highly accomplished and entertaining duo, making their first appearance on the main stage.
Their superb voices combine to bring a wonderfully pleasing sound to their music, appealing to all ages. Get yourselves to the stage and, please give them a massive Carnival welcome!
SAME OLD FACES Saturday 4th August 8.30pm to 11.00pm with break for Fireworks - Seafront
A fantastic and fitting finale to Swanage Carnival’s music on the stage! Every year since 2004 this amazing show-band has provided a superb evening’s entertainment to close our music week. So, make sure you’re at the stage for another high-energy performance!
The Same Old Faces... a visual and musical tribute to the 60s & 70s. So where did the name come from?
We were looking for somewhere to try out this new band. There’s a local pub (the Trout Inn at Lechlade) where several of us have played with different bands and are all good friends with Bob, the landlord.
“So who’s in the band?” asked Bob.... “Well”, I said, “there’s Martin, Steve, me”... “I might have guessed”, said Bob, “all the Same Old Faces”...
Wasn’t the 70s the time of ‘Glam Rock’?
Most of it was and that’s the fun. Dress up, let your wig down, rev up the zimmer and get that audience going. It’s still a great buzz!! Enjoy… and we hope to see you all next year.
A big thank you to our generous sponsors: Miles & Son and Humphries Kirk, Solicitors
And to the ‘Music on the Stage’ team: Production - Mike Dimarco. Audio Engineer, Sound Mixer and for providing the sound equipment - Mike Dimarco. Stage Co-ordinator and Engineer - Dave Miller. Electrics and Stage Lighting - Dave Barrow & Bill Smith.
Live Music continues throughout August on Saturday nights along with Fireworks - yes more awesome bands and music. Can you stand the pace?

RAISING KAINE Friday 3rd August 9.45pm to 11.00pm
Returning to the Carnival stage for a very welcomed second appearance is Raising Kaine. Although this Bournemouth based three-piece band has only been playing together for a few of years, collectively the band members have some sixty plus years live music experience between them… and it shows!
Creating its own strong blues rock sound, the band plays a mix of its own material which is Hendrix influenced, along with covers from the great man himself, ZZ Top and many more. The line up consists of Mick on lead guitar, Rick on Bass and Martyn on drums.
Another very exciting band especially for all you rocky blues fans. Inspiring, entertaining… not to be missed!
