BAD MAGIC Tuesday 31st July 9.30pm to 11.00pm
Bad Magic is a successful local rock band, which formed in 2011 from a band called Colt 45. Its energetic live performances and raw natural talent has put the band in hot demand from pubs, festivals and for its own theatre concerts.
The band is influenced by the likes of Led Zeppelin, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC and its own original material has gained respect from both audiences and the music industry. Bad Magic is delighted to be playing for the first time at Swanage Carnival and has promised some great musical entertainment.
So, make sure you’re there, and show your support!
KARL LATTIMER Wednesday 1st August 7.30pm to 8.45pm
Karl, a young singer songwriter from Wareham, hit the scene last year by winning the ‘Swanage Talent Show’ and our own ‘Carnival’s Got Talent’ contest. He provides his own backing keyboard and writes, sings much of his own material.
Busy playing clubs and venues around the area, Karl is a rising star of the future. A truly entertaining talent, not to be missed!
THE REPTILES Wednesday 1st August 9.00pm to 11.00pm with break for Fireworks - Seafront
Phenomenal performances have guaranteed a fifth year in succession for the fabulous Reptiles. Regular headliners for the RNLI’s ‘Saturday Swanage Spectacular’, the band have also recently supported Rick Astley.
A true rock pop show-band, the Reptiles provide all-round entertainment and specialise in creating the magical sounds of the 60s and 70s. From the Beatles to the Stones, from Steve Harley to Status Quo, the Reptiles bring fun and magic to some of the greatest songs ever written.
So if you fancy a dance, fancy a sing, and fancy a moment from your youth, then get down to the main stage!
DEVILS REJECTS Thursday 2nd August 8.00pm to 9.15pm
Swanage welcomes the Devils Rejects to the main stage for its fourth consecutive appearance.
This five-piece folk punk band, local to Purbeck, play an all original set influenced by bands such as Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys and Gogol Bordello. The band’s music is full of energy and appeals to all ages.
Devils Rejects is made up of Matt on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, Briony on violin and accordion, Rick on bass, Chris on electric guitar and Simon on drums.
So, get your stompin’ boots on and get down to the main stage for a set of folk/punk, pirate fuelled tunes that will have you dancing all night!
KAIZEN Thursday 2nd August 9.45pm to 11.00pm
A big welcome back to Kaizen, formed in 2010 and specialising a variety of modern music for everyone, the band gave an outstanding performance at its first Carnival appearance last year.
The band consists of five eighteen year olds, Joanna Smith - lead vocals, Jake Brown - lead guitar, Mitch Pope - bass guitar, Lennon Churchill - rhythm guitar and Mat Swales on drums.
The word ‘Kaizen’ originates from the Japanese phrase ‘Change for the better’ explaining the band’s title and meaning. With another great set of music lined up for Carnival music fans, be sure you are at the main stage to welcome this young and talented band!
