Starting our first Saturday we welcome the return of the ‘CRUISERS’ from Surrey. This first-rate band will ‘rock’ you up to the fireworks with a selection of music from the 50s and 60s to the present day.

Band members are Nick Woolfenden playing drums, Alastair Bygate playing rhythm guitar, Rob Goodson lead guitar and vocals, Pete Rooke guitar and vocals, Robin Malyan playing bass guitar and Mike Malyan on keyboards.

You are guaranteed some really great rock ’n’ roll with these guys, so, be sure you’re at the main stage on the Seafront.

THE MARTIN JOHNSON BAND Saturday 28th July After the Fireworks

Martin Johnson started his rock ‘n’ roll career singing in the famous 60s band The Presidents, often alternating gigs with The Rolling Stones. His recordings from those days are captured on the well-known album ‘The Glyn John Sessions’.

He had the honour to lead the first band to play at the Swanage Carnival many years ago. One of those musicians is still with him today: Jake Jacobs (guitar). Please remember Jeff Wellstead, sax player, who played with Marty from the beginning, but passed away two years ago (always remembered).

‘Bournemouth’ Fred is on drums, while Steve Darrington, organiser of the Swanage Blues Festivals, completes the outfit on keyboard, bass and piano/organ.

Be sure to bring your Dancin’ Shoes for a great evening of vintage rock ’n’ roll! NOVATONES Sunday 29th July 2.30pm to 3.30pm

Within just a few months of forming in 2010, this brilliant Southampton band got through to the southern UK finals of ‘LIVE AND UNSIGNED’!

If you want to hear some good old fashion rock & roll and love the Buzzcocks, Clash, Ramones then look no further, these guys will have you feeding off their energy from the start.

The line up is; Stew Page on Bass and vocals, Anthony Pittman on Rhythm guitar and vocals, Tony smith on lead guitar and Sean Swift on drums.

Returning to Carnival for a second year, more fantastic entertainment has been guaranteed - don’t miss out!

Call it ‘Rock’, ‘Indie’, ‘Pop’, Birmingham’s Abberline lurk somewhere in the spaces in-between. Blending dual guitar lines with hard-hitting yet melodic foundations, Rob Fitt - vocals and guitar, Tom Cotter - guitar and vocals, Ian Boyden - bass and Ashley Taylor - drums, seek to bring mighty but intimate songs, at home on any stage.

Influences include, Kings of Leon, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Radiohead, The Raconteurs, The Beatles, Nirvana, Ryan Adams, Black Keys, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Abberline; whatever appeals to you. Well-crafted ‘toe-tapping’ music will make this band’s first Carnival appearance, one to remember!
