VENUE 079

we had to come up with another solution that would offer the same kind of sound quality but be less obtrusive to the eye.” Zambonini had heard good reports about Tannoy’s new VX Series range of sound reinforcement loudspeakers, an evolution of the popular and almost ubiquitous V Series loudspeakers. When develop- ing VX Series, Tannoy pushed loudspeaker technology to its limits, setting new benchmarks in versatility and acoustic excellence. With an expanded range of enclosures and transducer compliments, the VX Series combines next-generation Dual Concentric driver technology with smart, ergonomic, portable and install-friendly new cabinet de- signs, enhanced build quality, and carefully thought-out functionality. All of these elements mean that VX Series offers installers, systems designers and engineers a critical advantage.

“The client wanted a complete solution that would allow him to play music in the bar upstairs, as well as a full PA set up downstairs that would be able to handle live bands and DJs,” said Zambonini. “The

acoustic qualities of the new VX Series matched the requirement per- fectly, and we were able to choose different models that accommo- dated the aesthetic concerns without compromising in sound quality.” Music in the upstairs bar is covered by four carefully positioned VX 8’s, while downstairs the set up comprises of two VX 15HPs, four VX 12Qs, two VNet 18DRs, with three VXP 8’s acting as the DJ moni- tors. The system is controlled with Lab.gruppen C 68:4 amplifiers, and routed through a Pioneer DJM-900 DJ mixer. “As soon as we switched the final system on and had a listen, every- one was delighted with the clarity and quality of the overall sound,” said Zambonini. “A good system can really make or break a venue, and the feedback we have had from the client, and that he has had from DJs and live bands, has been outstanding. I really can’t recom- mend the new VX Series enough.”
