November 2011
Well, we’ve relocated to Bridge of Weir and are presently in the offi ces above the former “Travel a la Carte” shop. This move should have been fairly straightforward, but apparently the biggest events in life are birth, marriage, bereavement and moving home; it’s no surprise therefore that even the mention of the word ‘move’ should fi ll me with trepidation.
We thought we had everything scheduled, with a new phone line (01505 613340), transfer of the existing number (01505 874385) and a continuation of our broadband internet service. We took over the new premises on Friday 23rd September, only to come in the next week to fi nd the newly acquired phone line had now been disconnected, and consequently we had no broadband. Yikes... a potential disaster !!!
Relying on our own IT expertise, mobile phones, laptops and multiple commutes to and fro, we thought we had managed to limp through over the next couple of weeks while ‘normal’ services were resumed, but it transpires we may have lost some content in the process and apologise to anyone who is missing from this month’s magazine.

So who’s to blame? I could bore you with the story in detail, it would be true and I’d therefore be within my rights to disclose the events. However, whether the truth is printed or not, the risk of an accusation of defamation is all too familiar these days and the process of defence too costly to even consider. Therefore, as prudent as ever, I have to leave you guessing, but with a very subtle clue: the letters T and B; but, as the late Eric Morecombe would tell us, not necessarily in the right order.
Hopefully all is now well and we are in the heart of Bridge of Weir, which makes us more central to our readership. Of course, we still retain our Kilmacolm address.
Finally, it’s funny how things work out. We wrote previously of the improvements in Neva Place, Livery Walk and the Square, but at that time had no idea we might be able to play an integral part in further improvements. It’s too early to publish the plan for the shops below our offi ces and the other space surplus to our present requirements, but watch this space; we hope to be involved in something quite exciting.
Yours truly, Contents
