Public Lecture - How a Landscape Responds to Hosting Windfarms

On Wednesday 23rd November, the Civic Trust will host a lecture to be given by Professor Susan Waldron of Glasgow University’s School of Geographical and Earth Sciences. Professor Waldron has been researching for several years how a landscape responds to hosting a windfarm, particularly as monitored through drainage system water chemistry. Here, she will provide a brief overview of the process of environmental impact assessment carried out prior to and during windfarm construction, and introduce her research projects focussed on better understanding windfarms and landscape carbon storage. The lecture which is free and open to all will take place from 7.30-8.30 pm in St Columba Church lesser hall. Details are available on our website.

New Website

We are delighted to announce that our recently restyled and updated website may now be viewed at www.kilmacolmcivictrust.org. Why not take a look? At the same time any members who have not yet elected to receive email communication from the Trust are encouraged to do so. So far about a third of members have signed up. This is very helpful as it saves postage costs and also speeds up communication.
