FILTERS4SPAS INTRODUCE DARLLY SILVERSTREAM FILTER CARTRIDGES Filters4Spas are exclusive European distributors for the Darlly SilverStream Spa Filter Cartridges. Silver ion technology is incorporated within all surfaces of the SilverStream Spa Filter Cartridges, including the Reemay media, the top, the bottom and the EasyStream core thus providing continuous antimicrobial protection. Filters4Spas Gil Gingell explains ‘Antimicrobial’ is simply the term used to describe something that has the ability to resist the growth of microbes e.g. bacteria and moulds. The technology; in the form of a silver ion additive is incorporated at the time of manufacture to provide continuous built-in antimicrobial protection for the expected lifetime of each filter cartridge.”

This product range seen at SPATEX is Darlly’s cutting edge filter cartridge, manufactured using high quality Reemay media combined with SilverStream technology to reduce levels of bacteria adding to the purity of your filter cartridge and water. Safe, natural and sustainable, silver has been used for centuries for its ability to aid preservation. Prior to the introduction of antibiotics, silver was widely used in hospitals to combat bacteria and today it is still much used in a wide range of medical products, such as wound dressings and catheters.

MOSAIC LAUNCHES WOOD EFFECT GLAZED TILES The Mosaic Company reported a big response from the trade for its new Forest series of new wood effect glazed porcelain floor tiles which are anti slip and which combine pool edging, grating and decking in a choice of six different wood effect colours – oak, cherry, maple, walnut and oak. A unique feature is the grating which is composed of individual pieces cut from the base tile and mounted on a strong polypropylene base ready to insert to a pre-prepared channel. Mosaic also introduced a series of large format porcelain tiles which have virtually no water absorption and can be used inside and around the pool.

ALUMINIUM FENCING SYSTEM COULD SOON BE A LEGAL REQUIREMENT

Many people in the specialist trade believe it may not be too long before a pool safety fence around a swimming pool becomes a legal requirement under European Union law. A removable safety fence is one of the best safety options. Life Saver introduced a moveable mesh pool fence at SPATEX designed specifically to provide a barrier around residential swimming pools for toddlers and young children. Fences are installed in sections for easy removal and reinstallation. Pool fencing can be installed in almost any type of deck with a variety of fence heights. Life Saver’s Pool Fence is an established system throughout Europe made from aluminium poles which have 96% visibility through a near transparent mesh.

PHOENIX COMPLIANT WITH NEW BUILDING REGULATIONS Heatstar introduced the new Phoenix EC system at SPATEX which has been purpose designed to be fully compliant with the new Part L building regulations for domestic and non-domestic pools. This unit offers ultra high heat recovery efficiency from its “dual/combined/hybrid” system. The combined effect of the dehumidification heat pump heat collection coil and the plate heat recuperator enables very high heat recovery efficiency on any introduced fresh air. At an ambient air temperature of 20°C the system can deliver an efficiency of over 140%.

The special type of fan used in the Phoenix EC, with its Electrically Commutated (EC) motor is important to the overall energy efficiency. For a domestic indoor pool, generally, it is the permanent operation of the air-fan motor which results in the highest energy consumption. Therefore, the

Phoenix EC employs a special type of digital fan, to offer the best energy efficiency and, so, the lowest operating cost.

The digital fan uses a directly driven, backward curved impellor, which features a DC motor coupled to an AC inverter.

The air-flow rate provided by the fan system can be adjusted on-site to precisely match the exact requirement of the pool room. To meet the demands of the very latest building regulations, the capacity of the heat recuperator has been significantly enlarged and upgraded for the new Phoenix EC model.

So stringent are the latest building regulations that the respective recuperator capacity has had to be increased by a factor of x 4 for the PH 1-3000 and x 5 for the PH 4-6000.
