Quality Pool Supplies say the durability of the fibreglass options means manufacturers are very confident about warranties
guarantees they were able to offer. “Swimming pools are for everyone, and the shell can cost as little as a medium sized car,” he said. In fact the Quality Pool range has a £15,000 pool as its most expensive and largest pool. The products start at £6,000. QPS, based in Surrey, supplies both in-ground and above-ground fibreglass swimming pool shells, accessories and pool equipment.
New for 2011 is a unique one-piece, insulated, stand alone, glass re-enforced plastic pool – called ‘the Puddle’ which is manufactured in the UK. “We are very excited about this new line. It was designed just last year and we have just registered the name and the brand and it has already had an excellent response,” added Hamish. “One of the biggest benefits we are finding from one-piece pools is that it saves on labour with the straightforward installation process which means a pool can be in place and operational within seven to 10 days. That is very attractive. It is also true that fibreglass pools need fewer chemicals than concrete pools.”
MONOBLOCK INCLUDES ROLDECK AUTOMATIC POOL COVER
The Starline Monoblock one-piece pool comes with the option of a fully integrated Roldeck automatic pool cover which is hidden below the pool surround. This does away with the need
for access to the cover pit allowing the pool

surround and copings to run right up to the edge of the pool. The Starline Group, the Dutch manufacturer of swimming pool products set up Starline Pools & Equipment UK Ltd to distribute the Starline Monoblock range of one- piece pools into the UK.
Arriving on site direct from the factory in Holland, the pools have a fully insulated double skin pool shell and are supplied with the pool flow fittings and lights pre-installed and pre-plumbed to the customer’s individual specification. Said Darren Brown: “The economy is tough there‘s no doubt about that but there’s also opportunities from people who are looking to put aside ideas of moving home for a while and who want a high quality immediate pool without fuss but with quality and with guarantees.” Having considered difficult access problems Starline’s delivery vehicles allow for the front cab to detach from the low loader and become a much more manoeuvrable independent mobile crane type vehicle, taking the pool right to the excavation and placing the pool directly onto the concrete base.
Available in five colours, options also include for an in-roller or external motor, solar or translucent slats, child safety lock, counter-
THIS & RIGHT: Starline has invested in doing as much as they can to get the right equipment to make access for one-piece pools more straightforward
current swim units and a wide range of copings that overlap the edge of the pool to offer a very neat finish. spn
