PORTRAIT POOLS TAKE TEN AWARDS TO BECOME TOP CONSTRUCTION COMPANY

Portrait Pools won the accolade of being Britain’s top swimming pool construction company, when it won ten individual awards including three golds, four silvers, and a bronze as well as the top titles of both Pool of the Year and Pool Contractor of the Year.
The north west business, formed in 1990, won the top environmental award and took gold in the two ‘glamour’ categories for residential pools over £75,000 and up to £150,000 – and over £150,000. The awards reflect a boom time for Portrait Pools. The team is finding the demand for high end luxury residential pools at an all time high since the company was first formed, with a large majority of their work coming from personal recommendations from previous satisfied customers.
“This is a pat on the back for everyone involved in the team from the offices to the pool site where attention to detail and the commitment to go that extra mile for our clients ensures we stand out from the crowd,” says David Bland, who with his business partner Andrew Rutherford, formed Portrait Pools and Enclosures. “We are busier than we have ever been at the moment with the order books absolutely bursting with both home owners and architects coming to us, particularly for the more difficult and challenging jobs.”
The Portrait Pools portfolio is packed with a host of well-known names from the world of sport,
commerce and show business. As well as a move towards energy efficient pools, Portrait have seen increased interest in multi-use rooms with state of the art moving floors transforming pool halls into party venues, games rooms or even business seminar suites, when the pool is not in use. The three awards Portrait received reflect the high profile of the business.
The indoor pool over £150,000 and pool of the year was designed and constructed by Portrait in a new private home in Cheshire.
“It was basically a square pool with a spa but the setting really looked spectacular,” added David. The £75,000 to £150,000 category gold winner was again a private home this time in Southport where an existing indoor area was completely converted with a pool floor design the client had seen in a previous Portrait designed pool and wanted the same. The wall effect of the pool used ‘v-tiles’ and the ceiling of the pool matched the client’s red Ferrari.
The third gold and the environmental award went to a outdoor pool built in Blackpool where the owner was adamant on keeping heating costs down and the pool is heated by a ground source heat pump with solar panels as a back-up system.
