TIMBERLINE EXPANDS INTO WET LEISURE MARKET WITH SANTELLA LEISURE PRODUCTS
Timberline Ltd of Chesterfield, a family-owned business, has announced a major expansion into the wet leisure market.
The business, which started in 1994, has a range of Swimgyms, Swimgym Lodges, hot tubs and hot tub lodges launched this month through a new sister company Santella Leisure Products Ltd. Timberline has built a strong reputation for the manufacture at their Chesterfield division, of a wide range of products, including playground equipment, play cottages, timber lodges, awnings and shelters, all primarily for the educational and commercial market.
Timberline’s shareholders, the father and son team of Tony and Richard Fearnehough, have now formed Santella Leisure, which will operate from two production centres – timber products from the Chesterfield division, and wet leisure products from Portsmouth.
The expansion under the new name enables the business to have a specific identity within the home leisure sector.
Santella have made a commitment to developing strong links with the specialist wet leisure business through its new launches. It is marketing a “Magnificent 7” range of new products. The Swimgym is made from laminated engineered beams and a stainless steel strengthening harness.
Tony Fearnehough said the Swimgym comes in a modular form, and the components can effectively be fed through a window. “This avoids the need for expensive cranes and
general disruption, and particularly enables the use of locations and indeed enclosures that would otherwise be impossible, e.g. conservatories, garages, cellars and particularly Santella’s range of Swim Lodges. This characteristic substantially expands the product’s marketability. “The unit is totally self-supporting and is specially engineered to be able to withstand the considerable water pressures without any underground fixing or side wall buttressing. All that is required is a level compacted subbase. “The product looks superb in a garden scene, and equally ‘at home’ within the house or the special purpose building, enhancing rather than detracting from the appearance of the garden. A high degree of insulation is standard on all Swimgym products – with massive energy saving advantages.”
The company has developed a range of either standard or bespoke Swim Lodges alongside the Swimgym.
“The wide size range offered by Santella means that our customers have a wide choice of buildings for Swimgyms, hot tubs, swim spas or their own proposed or existing swimming pool.” Santella have teamed up with industry experts to establish a Portsmouth hot tub manufacturing facility, stressing British quality and service. There are five models in the new range.
Santella are also providing a range of hot tub lodges with the option of a roof structure on corner posts or alternatively a structure with side walls and French doors. The “Supreme” product
with bifold doors on one, two, or more of the four sides, allows the lodge to be fully open in superb weather conditions, alternatively totally closed in and “cosy” when the elements turn against us. A wide range of styles of garden buildings, play centres and play lodges make up the new Santella products.
