Aquatrac under coping automatic cover blends seamlessly into this modern indoor pool’s surroundings

market leading DRIGLIDE system was developed in 2001 at the request of the pool industry and is the ideal solution for a new build rectangular swimming pool. Current market trends tasked Dripool with producing a more mainstream product which initially raised a few issues. How do you go from the market leading DRIGLIDE, the Rolls Royce of under-coping systems to an equivalent that is both conservatively priced and available to all, without losing the incredible design and aesthetics of the DRIGLIDE.

After many brainstorming sessions including feedback from their Approved Dealer Network and nine months of R&D Dripool feel they have come up with the answer in AutoSafe.

The AutoSafe was created with the pool installer in mind at every stage of development. From the simplicity of the roller housing, minimal conduit runs, easy wiring and simple installation, the AutoSafe is quite literally the perfect accompaniment to any pool. The AutoSafe has all the benefits of Dripool’s other systems but with one, unique difference. The AutoSafe is the only bespoke, off the shelf product available today that is designed for self installation. The ingeniously simple design enables the pool installer, if he or she chooses to maintain complete control of the entire project from initial housing over the dig to actually installing the cover and all other aspects using a very simple set of schematic drawings and technical advice if required.

SECOND SKIN

The Aquatrac Automatic Safety Cover was developed in the UK over 20 years ago and was designed primarily to provide safety for the growing number of domestic pools built in the late 80s. The now famous Rolls Royce photo was a genuine test to prove the strength of the cover beyond question. It soon became apparent that the Aquatrac was an extremely effective cover for all seasons providing unparalleled ease of operation, in addition to unrivalled safety, heat retention and labour saving benefits. On Indoor pools dehumidification costs are dramatically reduced.

Easy to operate by the turn of a key and within minutes your customer can be swimming or just relaxing by the poolside. The Aquatrac automatic cover acts like a second skin once closed and the pool becomes safely and completely sealed. There are several models available to suit various shapes and types of pools including freeform.

There are now huge numbers of Aquatrac covers installed in and around the UK. The company offer eight models to suit all types of pools and a continuing commitment to be Britain’s best known and most reliable swimming pool safety cover

In addition, as well as researching environmentally friendly ways of producing the multitude of products that make up an Aquatrac cover, the company have set aside green belt land and have been planting a tree for every Aquatrac cover installed since 2006.

HERITAGE INNOVATES IN POOL COVERS

The Heritage Pools winning entry for swimming pool design innovation at the SPATA awards was won as much for the pool cover as for the stunning pool design. The design was for a private residential indoor/outdoor pool with a partition that secured the indoor pool and enabled the outdoor pool to be used solus.

The design originally had a glass partition lowered from above to meet with a fixed solid wall that separated the indoor section of the pool from the outdoor section. However, the client wanted something better, so Heritage Pools Ltd worked with Hydrofloors to create a design which consisted of a moving wall concealed in the base of the pool, with motorised hatches either side that concealed the automatic pool covers.

This unique swimming pool was part of major refurbishment to an existing property in North London. Oval in shape, the pool measured 15.50 metres x 6.50 metres, deck level inside and with an infinity edge outside plus an internal spa area. Brian Andrews, Managing Director of Heritage Pools said, “This was the first time we had created a wall like this for the domestic market. The engineering involved was very detailed, however the combination of the design and manufacturing and installation input from Hydrofloors, and the skills of our construction and finishing teams ensured an outstanding final creation.”
