A stunning top of the range Jacuzzi J480 four- seater hot tub formed part of an owner’s dream to re-create Florida in his West Sussex home. The hot tub was fitted specially within a purpose built room in his large garden. The owner has property in Florida and wanted literally to create a bit of Florida sunshine in an English garden location with bar and a hot tub.

The installation won the BISHTA award for the category of residential hot tub above £10,000 for Euphoria Lifestyle. Euphoria Lifestyle also took the

runner’s up prize in the category. Euphoria has been consistent winners at the BISHTA awards. Mike Robinson, on behalf of the team that is based in Shoots Garden Centre on London Road in Washington said; “This particular hot tub was in a great garden complex and a beautiful location which meant the tub looked sensational.”

Barry and Paula McCabe make quite an award winning team.

The husband and wife partnership who run Oyster Pools & Leisure from Monmouthshire in Wales celebrated a great double as they won the SPATA Peter Geekie Retail Excellence Award and the BISHTA award for the UK’s Best Showroom. “We’ve spend over 35 years in the industry,” said Oyster Managing Director Barry, “and we’ve loved every minute of it. I don’t think anyone starting from scratch would develop the showroom we have now. We have built it up over the years, learning lessons as we go. We’ve been able to see what customers want, what they like and don’t like. We couldn’t do it all in one go.” The couple knew Peter Geekie after whom the SPATA award is named.

“Peter was a great guy with so much vision about this pool business, so its extra special to win this award again,” added Barry. The Oyster business has been based near the

historic village of Raglan for the past 30 years and the half acre showroom site has become a centre of style and excellence for pools and has the biggest display of hot tubs in South Wales and much of the south west.

The busy showroom is open seven days a week throughout the year.

Says Paula: “It’s always been a family business and that’s why we set ourselves such high standards. A lot of our business is about look and presentation. We want customers to look at the products and think ‘wow’ and then come back.”

“It’s also great fun,” she adds.

The couple aren’t all work and no play. They have just become racehorse owners with two yearlings in training with David Evans. Barry wanted to name one of them Jacuzzi – but the name was already taken so Barry opted for the name ‘Jack Who’s He?’

Oyster are passionate members of both SPATA

and BISHTA and are founder members of the National Leisure Group.
