SPN FEB 2011 ShowReview

fully insulated pool cover; available in the UK through Fairlocks Pool Products, unveiled their new Covrex pool bottom bench housing system in a fibreglass version. Fairlocks Paul Webb said: “The Lyon Show is the ideal place to showcase new products and there was a huge amount of interest in this new housing, which is ideal for retro fitting on the pool floor and gives the pool a real wow factor when the cover emerges as if by magic from below the water.”

Phil Moseley of Filters4Spas was massively complimentary of the exhibition saying: “We have to say the show was exceptional and we are absolutely delighted, so many old (and new) pals came to talk and show support for us. It really was a very successful trip and one we will look to repeat.”

Our friends from the north, Gateshead based Palintest were another company who only had favourable comments particularly regarding the high visitor numbers throughout. Eddie Mack of Palintest said: “The numbers really were encouraging and the launch of a new instrument, the Pooltest 9 Premier was a big hit. All in all, a true success and we are looking at repeating the exercise next time around.”

It was fourth time lucky at Lyon for Triogen so said Paula Wardrop and continued: “Visitors to our stand were of a high standard. The visitors are now aware of Triogen and how we can add value to their products and developments and we will be approaching them directly within the next weeks to continue discussions. All very interesting and the show is run well.”

There were spas, hot tubs and swim spas galore expelling the myth that these gorgeous products are passé and not sought after. Passion Spas took the whole wall end of one hall and other well known names included Arctic, Artesian, Teuco/Spaform and Jacuzzi.

In amongst their impressive display Catalina Spas were kept busy showing off their new fully self contained low energy and good looking Swimspa 14 Trainer that attracted visitors from home and abroad. Catalina’s Steve Crabb is extremely happy with the positivity shown by the leisure industry and as a direct result of the show has secured new business from targeted overseas customers. Steve said: “Numbers may have been down compared to past years but the quality was impressive as was, for us, the outcome.” spn

QUOTES FROM THE SHOW FLOOR

Aquaflex Director John Crossman: “One of the best run and most lively overseas shows I have ever attended. Evidence that there is still an inspired leisure industry operating worldwide.”
