fINISHES To dIffIcUlT ArEAS Tiling and pool projects (UK) Ltd specialise in the tiling of new swimming pools and the refurbishment of existing pools. It also carries out refurbishment and new marblite rendering of pools, using pacelite materials. The Cheshire based company were approached
to advise on a project for tiling a steam room, which already featured large dated tiles. The area needing attention was a problematic cylindrical shape. The company decided that the whole area
should be tiled over using mosaic tiles and epoxy grout. As the area was busy and popular with the users, a strict time scale was put on the job. It was decided to skim over and fill in the
existing tile joints using a special adhesive, then tile the walls, seats, floor and steps with different mosaic tiles which as a finished contract gave a fantastic fresh overall look to the entire room. Tony Crank, Managing Director said: “The
contract was tricky because there was not a straight area to tile because all the walls, floor, seats and steps were round and therefore had to be prepared and set out correctly so that the number of cuts within the tiling were kept to an

absolute minimum. We work all over the UK and carry out projects that include rendering, full re- tiles, repairs, re-grouting to areas using cement based and epoxy materials, expansion joints and sika products. The thing that makes us different is that clients who have used us always come back, because although we are a small team, we always turn up on time, work hard, work weekends and nights, always use well established quality products and finish a job to a high standard.” The company is a member of the Tile Association,
CITB, Constructionline and is a CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) accredited contractor and will be at SpATEx to discuss projects and hopefully help and meet new clients.

comes to sourcing materials to use for swimming pool landscapes and this must not be overlooked. Original Style’s range of Dorset Woolliscroft slip- resistant floor tiles ensure a hazard free environment in and around wet areas. In fashion no one has actually caused quite
such a stir as that of Quant’s mini skirt (actually she nicked the design from Courrèges and shortened it) and stone cladding al la Coronation Street was an stonework aberration too far for most of us, but, fashion changes in every industry and whilst a pool is still a pool, smoothing out the rough edges and making surrounds super are the key to pool perfection, and in the world of pool building and manufacturing it’s obvious that the ideas are still flowing! spn
