SPN FEB 2011 HotTubs

www.swimmingpoolnews.co.uk

The start to this year will see almost unprecedented activity in terms of new hot tubs arriving for both dealers and consumers on the UK market. Many are aimed at the buyer looking for value-for-money, mid range products but there is still a lot of activity at the top of the market where luxury and quality are in abundance

T

he good news for UK hot tub dealers and their potential customers is that 2011 is going to be a bumper year when it comes to new tubs. There are some brilliant new tubs arriving on the market. It’s really something of a co-incidence. The days when suppliers and importers waited for a new season to introduce their ranges are gone. However the big autumn shows in Europe and the United States are still the focal point for introducing new lines and that tends to affect when new tubs arrive available to UK dealers. The 2011 season is one which reflects a changing market with a lot of activity in the value for money ranges. As money continues to get tighter so suppliers are moving in more economical ranges into the market to offer still more choice in the middle range for specialist imported hot tubs.

It isn’t the only development for the 2011 market but it is a significant one. There are a lot of

temptations in the above £12,000 price bracket. The highlights for 2011 include 10 new Sunbelt spas in a revamped range from Elite Spas, a new Garden Spa range from the United States from Artesian Spas, new eco spas from Sundance Spas, the new J-LX collection from Jacuzzi, two new spas from Catalina which received a rapturous welcome when they were shown in Lyon in the autumn, a new commercial in-ground spa from Spa Crest who have also added to their Coastal range, new luxury ranges from Passion Spas, a new impressive ‘vanishing edge’ spa from Coast Spas, and a new Bay Collection range from Dimension One. It’s quite a line up.

Spa Crest Europe Ltd moved into 2011 with a new model from its Coastal range and its first in- ground commercial hot tub.

Boss Tony Welsby was keen to add to the Coastal range from Spa Crest which already has three tubs in its value for money range. The three

existing tubs – the Hatteras, Charleston and Savannah now have a new addition – the St Augustine, named after a Florida beach resort. The new tub adds to the appeal of the range for dealers who might be looking to add another brand on to their existing suppliers – specially as the range is very much in tune with the economic climate of value for money hot tubs. The Spa Crest in-ground pool is a

development on from the success the company has been having with its PowerSwim spas and is aimed with the commercial market in mind and the Club 25 fits into the hotel or health club market place. It is a split shell product which allows it to be fitted and assembled into any previous spa gap. The commercial tub also comes with a clear shell which allows a club or hot tub company to put its own logo inside. “I think that’s something which is unique,” adds Tony Welsby.
