Taste & Tour of the Countryside Drexel Hill, PA October 19, 2010 - One of the region's largest trade shows for planning events, Delaware County’s Brandywine CVB’s 17th Annual Taste and Tour of the Countryside was held at Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center.
Booming with entertainment, exhibitors and 2,000 attendees, this premier event is a food, beverage and attractions trade show catering to planners and the hospitality industry. Attendees were able to get a glimpse of what is up and com- ing for the 2010 holiday season as well as venues and servic- es for 2011 event possibilities.
The Welcome Tent creatively displayed harvest themed table décor by Choice Party Linens and Flowers by Priscilla. These table displays gave guests an inviting first impression of the event. In the Lobby AFR Event Furnishings created two lounge areas for guests. From the comforting tangerine and deep purple colors, this furniture display set just the right mood in the lobby. Philadelphia Distilling could be found behind both of AFR's signature bars, serving designated har- vest themed cocktails. Before entering the Grand Ballroom guests came across three intriguing live statues painted by Creative Juice Group. The beautiful artwork and transforma- tion of these models stopped guests in their tracks.
Inside the Grand Ballroom, Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center, Eventricity and Hollywood Landscaping teamed up to create vignettes while incorporating David Dodge vehicles. One was a relaxing beach theme, the second a fast paced city theme, and lastly a laid back suburban theme. These mag- ical showcases allowed guests to feel as if they were in sever- al different places all at the same time while enjoying Drexelbrook Catering cuisine.
Entertainment offered throughout the night started with music by Wheatstone Bridge and continued with Avalare Strings and East Coast Entertainment, featuring a rock con- cert via violins. The Three Waiters presented a performance with their powerful voices and stage presence, which came as a delightful surprise to all. Go Festive and ShutterBooth were present providing attendees with memorable keepsakes, while Celebrity Chef Joseph Poon created amazing carvings out of pumpkins and watermelons.
The Grand Ballroom was filled with 38 exhibitors while the Brandywine Country Dessert & Attraction Pavilion show- cased 26 exhibitors. Exhibitors of the Dessert & Attraction Pavilion included the Brandywine Battlefield, Brandywine River Museum, Cupcakes Gourmet, Cream Valley Farm, Longwood Gardens, RA Associates, Seasons 52, Tyler Arboretum, Jeffrey A Miller Catering, Ellis Coffee, the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center, Media and Hedgerow Theaters, Bed & Breakfast Associations and many more.

Creative Juice's creativity with live statues
Grand Ballroom exhibitors coordinated their space with cre- ative designs. Harrah's Chester Casino and Racetrack had their booth transformed into a haunted house complete with gargoyles; the Valley Forge Convention Complex had a spooky cemetery with everything from staff dressed as witch- es to ghosts serving culinary specialties. One of the winners in the booth judging competition, The Chestnut Club and Barclay Caterers had a wonderful “Under the Sea” theme with a live painted mermaid model; Perelman Quadrangle had an exquisite "Ice" Tea Party in a Winter Wonderland showcase complete with a live ice princess and winter white décor of snowflakes; Phoenixville Foundry along with Feastivities and OffShoots! event décor presented a very tempting theme called “Please sir, may I have ‘S'More’?" Another winner, Villanova Conference Center showcased an Old Fashioned Rodeo BBQ.
The event supported the Brandywine Battlefield, and the preservation of this historic landmark. An encampment was erected for the Battlefield and re-enactors were present along with George Washington and General Howe. Go Festive! Incorporated these characters into their flipbooks and attendees had some fun posing with them.
Other sponsors included SYSCO Foods, Select Event Rentals, Studio Signs, Ransome Engine, Temple School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Track Pack PA and Mid-Atlantic Events Magazine.
