Blair Mill Inn is a well known and popular banquet facility in the Bucks County area, with ballrooms available for up to 350 guests. The facility offers several different package options to suit a variety of tastes and budgets.


In the northern part of the county, Bucks County Riverboat Company boasts a 52- foot pontoon boat fully equipped to pro- vide a memorable excursion along the Delaware River for up to 60 people.


Traditionally know as an “Inn Destination,” Bucks County offers quaint meeting space at bed-and-breakfasts ranging from upscale to rustic country. The Inn at Bowman’s Hill offers lush accommoda- tions and meeting space just two-and-a- half miles from downtown of New Hope and 15 minutes from corporate jet access. Its fully equipped boardroom holds 15 people, while in-suite massages can be made available, as well.


Bridgeton House on the Delaware is a 12-room bed-and-breakfast situated on the banks of the Delaware River. Specializing in corporate retreats and business meetings, the inn offers a pent- house for up to 25 people and a boat- house with more intimate space and sce- nic views.


Things To Do


Bucks County has played host to visual artists, authors, playwrights, lyricists and composers who have lived and worked in its countryside. Visitors can tour a variety of local homes and museums dedicated to preserving their efforts and accom- plishments. For example, the legacy of the first American woman to receive Pulitzer and Nobel prizes is preserved at the house of this author, activist and humanitarian, Pearl S. Buck. Her 68-acre estate houses an 1825 stone farm home, beautiful gardens, barns, milk house, the Nobel Prize she was awarded and more. A favorite historical destination in Bucks County is Doylestown, with its impressive


In fact, Visit Bucks County has even announced a new initiative to promote the delicious foods of the county through “Foodspotting.com.” This social media site helps its users “find dishes, not just restaurants.” It works by “Foodspotters” taking a photo of their food or drink and posting it to the website via their comput- er or smart phone. Travel + Leisure recently named Foodspotting one of the Top Travel Apps for 2010.

belt of The Mercer Mile comprised of Fonthill Castle, Mercer Museum and the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works. Fonthill, which feels more like a European castle than a museum, was the home of cre- ative genius Henry Mercer.


The Mercer Museum is a grouping of towering castle houses that exhibit dra- matic displays of folk art, furnishings and tools of early America. The Moravian Pottery and Tile Works is a working his- tory museum that continues to produce tiles and mosaics in a manner similar to that employed by Mercer himself.


From February 19 - May 15, 2011, Muhammad Ali and Elvis Presley will be featured in the “Ali and Elvis: American Icons Exhibit” at the James A Michener Art Museum. This exhibit features more than 50 photographs by distinguished photographers.


New Hope, a popular artist colony, offers eclectic charm comfortably offset by casual sophistication. Peppered with bed-and-breakfasts, It is home to art gal- leries, antique shops and over 30 restau- rants.


Other big offerings in Bucks County are centered around food. Festivals for strawberries, peaches and apples; a his- toric church that has been transformed into a dining establishment (Marsha Brown Restaurant); plus Colonial dining connections via an array of foods at local taverns and pubs.
