Event planners can choose between the indoor streetscapes Bacall (seating for 350) and Bogart (seating for 450) and a classic ballroom (seating up to 1,000). Two new hotels are working their way from blue prints to construction in Delaware County, including one near the Delaware River on Route 291, an area rich in manufacturing, high tech compa- nies and government business. The


other hotel will open in heart of the coun- ty in Newtown Square, where a limited service hotel was approved for Ellis Preserve.


The beautiful town of Swarthmore, famous for its elite college campus and Scott Arboretum, is also rumored to be planning a new hotel facility.


Places to Meet


In addition to plentiful meeting space at outstanding hotels such as the Renaissance at Philadelphia Airport, as well as the Main Line’s Radnor and Wayne Hotels, there are dozens of prop- erties with excellent meeting and event potential.


The new Airport Waterfront Inn is located just minutes from Harrah’s Chester Casino. It is a small boutique hotel locat- ed off a marina with an outdoor deck, restaurant and breakout rooms.


Both Harrah’s Chester Casino and the dazzling new PPL Soccer Stadium offer unique and interesting space for meet- ings, dinners and large spectacular events. Harrah’s has a special executive suite as well as three outstanding restau- rants. PPL Stadium can host huge events and concerts, with not only stadi- um space, but also a beautiful Promenade for outdoor café, bistro and sidewalk fair events.


Drexelbrook Corporate Event Center is the standard when it comes to elegant meeting space, with marble floors, plush furnishings, crystal chandeliers and sumptuous décor. It features 15,000 square feet of sub-dividable ballroom with 20-foot ceilings. The center is an ideal site for trade shows, events, cock- tail receptions, conventions, parties and workshops for groups from 10 to 3,000 people.
