Keswick Theatre offers
corporations and meeting planners a variety of
opportunities for holding functions before or after shows and concerts.
Attendees will find the atmosphere of Hagley and the surrounding wooded landscape of the Brandywine Valley to be tranquil and inviting for brainstorming. They don’t have to travel far to find this gem, with its close proximity to major routes and transportation. Hagley is five miles outside of Wilmington and just 30 miles from Philadelphia.
Keswick Theatre in the suburban town of Glenside, Pennsylvania is an historic landmark built in 1928 by Horace Trumbauer, a promi- nent American architect of the Gilded Age who designed many residential manors for the wealthy. Later in his career he designed hotels, office buildings, much of the campus of Duke University, and the main library at Harvard University.
The Keswick Theatre can hold small meetings and receptions in its lobbies (100 attendees seated and 200 standing) and offers theatre- style seating for up to 1,250 individuals. Host to about 150 events a year, planners will find that the Keswick Theatre can accommodate many diverse needs.
“We work with the best professionals to assure a high-quality event for large, theatre-style meetings,” said Judith Herbst, general manager of Keswick Theatre. “For small meetings in the lobbies, a small projector with screen set-up and podium is available.”
Keswick offers corporations and meeting plan- ners a variety of opportunities for holding functions before or after shows and concerts. Herbst said that in this day and age of shrink- ing budgets, social meetings, corporate cele- brations and annual parties could be planned around plays and concerts as a way to provide a great memory for the client. Doing so allevi- ates the need to create both the food and entertainment pieces.
“Our programming is such that we can provide a variety of entertainment without having to ‘recreate the wheel’,” she said.
The towns surrounding the venue include diverse restaurants within walking distance (five on the street) and many within driving distance (about 20). Glenside and Jenkintown have beautiful walking areas lined with locally owned as well as chain businesses.
