White Lite Wire Trap Lighting Connectors
Lawrence, MA — Global Connector Technology (GCT) has expanded its range of White Lite lighting products with two new economical wire trap lighting connectors. Designed for use in LED lighting strips, 2.4 and 4.0 mm (0.094 and 0.160 in.) pitches offer engi- neers options to deal with space constraints and current rating requirements. The surface mount con-
nectors contain natural LCP insulators and are available in one-, two-, or three-contact versions. The 2.4 mm pitch BL300 accepts 2024 AWG stranded wire rated at 4 A for 22 AWG. The two-position connector has a footprint of just 5.2 x 7.9 mm (0.20 x 0.31 in.) with a height above the PCB of 3.6 mm (0.14 in.). The BJ302 4.0 mm pitch products accept 2022 AWG stranded conductors or 1824 AWG solid conductors. The current rating for 18 AWG is 8A. The 4.0 mm con-
nectors have a footprint of 7.45 x 11.80 mm (0.29 x 0.46 in.) with a height above the PCB of 4.50 mm (0.18 in.).

Ironwood Intros High Performance BGA Socket
Eagan, MN —Ironwood Electronics re - cently introduced a high-performance BGA socket for 0.5 mm (0.02 in.) pitch BGA 153 pin ICs. The SGBGA 292 socket is designed for a eMMC memory package and oper- ates at bandwidths up to 30 GHz with less than 1 dB of insertion loss. The sockets are de -
signed to dissipate up to several watts without extra heat sinking and can handle up to 100W with custom heat sink. The con- tact resistance is typically 20 mW per pin. The socket connects the pins with 30 GHz bandwidth on all con- nections. Mounted by a patented technology, the sockets require no holes in the target PCB, no soldering and have a minimal footprint. It can be mounted on any existing PCB with the company’s exclusive placement/ epoxy system. The SGBGA7292 sockets are
constructed with high-performance and low-inductance elastomer contac- tor. Their operating temperature range is –35 to +100°C (–31 to +212°F). The pin self-inductance is
0.15 nH and has a mutual inductance of 0.025 nH. Capacitance to ground is
