Yorba Linda, CA — B&K Precision has expanded its selection of 878B and 879B 40,000-count hand- held LCR meters with the addition of a new 100 kHz model, the 880. The portable LCR meter can measure inductance, capacitance and resistance with 0.1 percent basic impedance accuracy. With many features typically found only in
bench LCR meters, the 880 provides test frequen- cies up to 100 kHz, selectable test signal levels, and four-terminal measurements. With a fast auto-ranging function, convenient single-push auto-detect mode, the 880 is suitable for character- izing components in the field or in laboratory envi- ronments. Four-terminal shielded configurations can
help minimize measurement errors and improve measurement accuracy. Using four-terminal Kelvin test leads can help mitigate the effect of lead impedances and contact resistances. The 880 offers a four-terminal
socket with separate sensing and current leads, as well as a guard ter- minal. The 880 contains a dual display
with 40,000-count and 10,000-count resolution for primary and secondary measurements. Selectable test fre-
ACT-Vision: Cameras for Hi-Bandwidth
Applications Santa Clara, CA — ACT-Vision, a provider of machine vision solutions to the semiconductor and industrial manufacturing markets, has expand- ed its product line to include cameras for high-bandwidth applications, such as CoaxPress and USB3.0 cameras. On the optics side, the company
offers low-cost and high-reliability solutions from CHIOPT, a manufac- turer of high-resolution CCTV, tele- centric, and line-scan lenses. In the area of machine vision, the company offers custom solutions from KKI- MAC and Hayashi. KKIMAC’s three- way dome light combines the ability

quencies include 100 and 120 Hz, and 1, 10 and 100 kHz, along with selectable test levels of 0.3, 0.6 and 1V rms. In addition, the LCR meter pro- vides DC resistance measurements. Users of the 880 can expect a full set of useful
accessories supplied with the instrument. Standard accessories include an AC adapter with rechargeable 9V battery, mini USB cable, shorting plate, banana-to-alligator test leads, Kelvin clip test leads, and an additional tweezer accessory for
convenient measurement of SMD components. Contact: B&K Precision Corp., 22820 Savi

to light a surface at a low angle to image scratches, etching or surface particulates, with dome illumination for reflective surfaces, and a coaxial light to highlight indentations. In any vision system, the role of
hardware is to provide an image with high contrast between an object of interest and the background. It is often assumed that the best way to improve contrast is by increasing the resolution of the camera or lens. Frequently, this approach increases the cost of the system while doing lit-
tle to better the signal-to-noise ratio. Contact: ACT-Vision, 2372
