Heidenhain Introduces Next-Generation Feedback Components

Schaumburg, IL — Heidenhain has released its next generation of high- quality encoders and scales, which include the new ERO 2000 modular rotary encoder, the ECA 4000 absolute ring encoder and the popu- lar, redesigned LIDA 400 exposed linear encoder. The ERO 2000 high-speed, high-

resolution modular rotary en coder for motion feedback offers a compact design, excellent signal quality, and therefore, high-interpolation rates and thermal position stability. The successful ECA 4000 incre- mental ring encoder has been modi-

BLM Group USA Intros Laser System for 3D

Machining Wixom, MI — BLM Group USA, a manufacturer of tube processing sys- tems, has introduced its LT-FREE five-axis, fiber laser machine. The system is designed to cut 3D-formed or shaped parts, such as bent tubes, hydroformed tubes, welded assem- blies, and stamped or flat sheets. The laser head’s freedom of

movement allows for cutting without needing to move the part. It also allows for a high degree of flexibility and accuracy during operation. The LT-FREE can make cuts very close to each other and enables parts to be nestled close together on a single bent tube and uses the laser to sepa- rate, saving material costs. Cutting, drilling, punching, and

milling operations, which are nor- mally carried out in sequence, can now be performed on a single machine. This eliminates set-up and “work in progress” inventory, re -

fied for use in angular motion feed- back and includes absolute technolo- gy. Finally, the LIDA 400 exposed linear encoder has been redesigned for the future of motion feedback. New features include a resolution of 50 nm and accuracies to ±1µ, improved signal quality, and a status

Vacuum Tweezer Solutions

For nearly thirty years we have been a leading supplier of vacuum handling solutions to the world’s high technology fi rms. Our patented ESD safe products are used by CLASS I clean room personnel, electronic assemblers, semiconductor manufacturers, the optics industry and universities around the world. Our success comes from developing innovative manual vacuum handling tools and pick-up tips based on customer requests and customer feedback. These tools provide customer specifi c solutions that make assembly and processing operations more productive and ergonomic. Parts range in size from 0.13mm (0.005”) up to 300mm (12.0”) for easy handling.

duces material handling, and down- sizes the space needed for storage. The series includes the High Flex universal version for bent and hydro- formed tubes, flat and deepdrawn sheets, or welded assemblies; the Piece Value version with rotary turntable and automatic load/unload for high-productivity machining; and the Entry Level version with dual fixed table. Used to machine mild steel, cop-

per, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, and galvanized steel, the system comes with power up to 5 kW, dimen- sions of 59 x 39 in. (1.5 x 0.99m), and has axis strokes of x = 116 in. (2.95m), y = 37 in. (0.94m), and z = 29 in.
