Colorado Springs, CO —Virtual Indus tries, a supplier of manual vacuum handling solu- tions, is now offering its TWEEZER-VAC® Elite and ADJUST-A-VAC® Elite component handling systems. The TWEEZER-VAC Elite (TV-1500-


ELITE) was developed in response to cus- tomer concerns about firmly grasping critical components and not dropping them due to a vacuum leak. This vacuum tweezer uses an integrated ten-segment bar-graph display that shows the vacuum level present during operation. In addition, the vacuum port con- tains a replaceable inlet filter that protects operation of the tool from dust particles. The system is available in various kits depending on the handling application. Kits are avail-


able in 110 or 220V operation. The ADJUST-A-VAC Elite (AV-5000-


MW8) was developed to handle thin, deli- cate substrates, wafers, MEMS devices, and other fragile components. This vacu- um tweezer allows the operator to adjust the vacuum level from just below atmos- pheric pressure to up to ten inches of mer- cury, depending on the fragility of the part being handled. Like the TWEEZER-VAC Elite, the system has an integrated ten- segment bar-graph that shows its vacuum level, a replaceable inlet filter, and is

Reed Relays Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, UK — Picker - ing Electronics, a manufacturer and distributor of instrumentation grade reed relays for ATE, low-thermal EMF, RF-switching and other spe- cialized applications, has introduced its series 67 and 68 reed relays. The relays are available for up to 10 kV stand-off, 7.5 kV switching, and with an option of either PCB or flying lead switch connections. Similar in specification to the

single-in-line (SIL) format using for- mer-less coils which dispense with the more usual coil supporting bob- bin, allowing a smaller package than similar rated devices. The unusual package design


presents some interesting packing possibilities for high-density applica- tions, such as multiplexers and matrices in instrumentation and test systems. Standard voltages of 5, 12 and 24V coils are available, and other voltages can be supplied to spe- cial order, as can variations in the lead length of the series 68 range.
